[COVERAGE] EvoL successfully hold their first showcase in Malaysia
Hip hop girl group EvoL had a memorable time with Malaysian Vollers (fanclub name) for their first showcase in Malaysia few days ago. This event was made possible with New Pro-Star SDN BHD (NPS) which is well-known for organizing KPOP events since 2012 with Running Man Kim Jong Kook, MIK, Alphabat, and The B.O.S.S. EvoL is the very first female KPOP artist that NPS had brought here. The showcases were held in various parts in Malaysia including Taiping, Kuala Lumpur and Malacca from 24th to 29th September 2014.
EvoL actually had visited Malaysia before in 2012 for private function performance together with Block B and this time was their first showcase promo tour in Malaysia. EvoL members divides as three vocals and two rappers, and their main concept is based on hip-hop and electronic music with powerful image.
Leader vocalist: SAY, (21 years old)
Main rapper: Jucy (22 years old)
Lead vocalist: Hayana (21 years old)
Main vocalist: Yull ( 22 years old)
Rapper/Vocalist : J-da (20 years old)
EvoL arrived in Malaysia on 24th September and had their press-conference in Neway 1utama on 25th September.
Press-conference:
EvoL press-conference was held for one hour and taken place in Neway 1utama, Kuala Lumpur. Below are the questions that were asked:
Since this is your second time in Malaysia, what is your expectation?
Hayana: Since this is our first showcase in Malaysia, we had practiced a lot in Korea and by thinking the fans that want to meet us we were very excited to come here.
2. What is your dream?
Yull: Just like any other group, we hope that we could achieve first place in any music shows.
3. What would you like to do in Malaysia?
Say & Jucy: We would like to learn the language, the culture in Malaysia and to try all the Malaysian food.
The EvoL members then were asked to show their individual talent. Yull as the main vocal had shown us her amazing vocal by singing Whitney Houston’s “Will always love you”. Next member Hayana gave us three cute and sexy poses. Rapper Jucy showed us her fast rapping skill. Leader SAY followed up by singing Korean traditional song, “Arirang”. Lastly, the youngest member J-da brought laughter by the members as she did “aegyo” by saying Apa Khabar and Terima Kasih.
The members then were asked to choose which member is the naughtiest and everyone pointed at Jucy. Jucy denied by saying that she never plays around in the group.
The media then were given chance to ask few questions towards the members.
What is your favourite food in Malaysia?
Hayana: Actually we haven’t tried any Malaysian food yet and we would love to try anything that you suggest us.
They had promised to eat Satay, Nasi Lemak and roti canai.
2. Do you have any plan for comeback?
Hayana: We don’t have the specific date for our comeback yet but we would like to try different genre of music.
Say: We also would like to try acting as well.
The press-conference ended with photo session with the sponsors.
Showcases:
EvoL went to three states for their showcases with photo session and fansigning session with Malaysian Vollers. From Taiping to Malacca, they wrapped their last performance on 28th September in Mahkota Parade, Malacca.
They started off their promo tour in Malaysia by performing in Taiping Mall, Taiping on 25th September. The showcase started at 7pm and finished at 9pm. The girls had performed 5 songs, starting with “1,2,3,4,5” , “Get up” , “We’re a bit different”, “I’m sorry” and finished by singing a cover of Flo rida ft Sia, “Wild Ones”. The fans had a chance to play games with the members on the stage and the showcase finished with photo session and autograph session.
Next showcase was held in Klang Parade, Kuala Lumpur on 27th September. The showcase started at 5PM and ended at 7PM. EvoL had started the showcase by performing “1,2,3,4,5” which is a song from their first mini album, “Let Me Explode” . Next, they also had performed “Get up” which is the song from their second mini album, “Second Evolution”. After the song, each of them had picked lucky fans among the crowds to play game with them. The game was about gesture guessing which made EvoL members posed and the fans needed to guess what it is. From the game, it was really funny to see each member did the gestures seriously and had special moment with their lucky fans.
The pair which had the most correct guess won the game, and it was J-da team who did the best. All the members then gave their special gifts for the fan that played the game with them. The game session ended with photo session.
The showcase continued with “I’m sorry “and “We’re a bit different” performances. EvoL had mesmerizes the fans by their strong vocal and awesome rap skills. The members also had shown their individual talents after that. The fans are very lucky to see the various sides of the members and they were really friendly and very funny as well. EvoL finished off their stage performance with a cover song for Flo rida ft. Sia , “Wild Ones”. The event closed with photo session and autograph session with the fans.
The last showcase from EvoL’s promo tour was held in Mahkota Parade, Malacca on 28th September. The event started at 3PM and ended at 5PM. Although the session was almost the same with the two previous showcases, EvoL had shown us a lot of different sides and had awesome performance.
Celebration party
After the showcase ended, EvoL went back to Kuala Lumpur for a celebration party with lucky fans in Summit Hotel USJ. The celebration party goes well with special time and close talk with the members among the fan, and also was very emotional. They said that they had so much memorable time here and love Malaysia very much. They also shared their experience visiting interesting places in Malaysia such as KLCC and the night market. The members also were presented with video supports from fans and it touched them to tears. It was indeed a very special night for EvoL and Malaysian Vollers. The celebration party ended with surprise gift from fans to EvoL and photo sessions.
