And I finally got the glorious 111/100 my prof puts on every exam. Very happy with myself :)

Hey so I'm sick-ish.

Haven't been as productive as I want to be, so perhaps being sick is the punishment. Anyways, guess who has one bang energy drink and a desperate need to do well in all of these classes?

I'm gonna give you the game plan just in case I crash really bad from it:

Now - 6pm: Finish up Research Paper. I'm like 75% done with it, but I also need to find more sources and quotes which is going to take up a good bit of time. I'll find time to circle back to it if need be.

7pm - 12am: Work on the Take-Home Midterm. My differential equations professor is really chill and I can ask him questions about the exam if I can get a good amount of it done tonight. I really need to perfect this exam, so I gotta lock in for this.

1am - 4am: Study for physics. I'm almost done reviewing chapter 25, so all I need to go is go over chapter 26 and 27 a bajillion times, especially chapter 26.

Then work at 8am so leave for the bus at 7:20.

After my exam at 5:30pm, I'll submit my research paper before midnight, then continue working on the midterm.

If I can get through that, I'll mostly be set. Then go to student gov/delegate elections since I'm trying to pass off my delegate role for next year. And I can get home by 5:30ish, then I need to start working on my commission sheet because I'm a vendor at an art market next weekend.

And then I'll find some time to squeeze in doing the weekly assignments for each class.

Does this sound like an okay plan? I'm not gonna get a full night of sleep for like two days lol

Forgot to update for yesterday, so I added the assignments for that day here. Been a good bit busy with work and all that, but I did manage to get a few small assignments done so far.

Had to skip my differential equations class to go to an appointment which isn't ideal, but the professor posts a lot of the material online, so I'm not too worried.

Unfortunately wasn't able to get much done today as I had to figure out a time to donate blood (surplus of red blood cells over here) and fix stuff with my ID.

I'm probably going to stay up a bit later to get more things done. Unfortunately, I have a late night lecture + labs tomorrow, and then another early class and quiz on Friday, so I may or may not be cooked. We'll see.

I really should binge those toxic study motivation videos more. Sometimes I find myself just wanting to toss everything aside to draw or paint or somehow find the money to make marble sculptures.

First day of spring quarter! Unfortunately did not get a lot of assignments done, nor a lot of my spring break goals, so we're not starting the quarter on too good a note.

But work went pretty alright today. No big disasters other than the higher-up that was supposed to order some things just. not doing that. No shade to her though, she's been busy busy. Hopefully I'll be done with my student organization brochure by tomorrow so I can start handing it out. I already sent the draft to my other officers and I'm looking for the go-ahead to send it to everyone else.

On another note, my art history class is looking a tad bit wild though. 2 discussion posts, 2 analysis assignments, and 2 quizzes all due Saturday. Bro it is the first week, can we chill?? I know it probably doesn't sound that bad, but it's an online class and I kinda took it so I'd be less busy stuck in classes all the time. Backfired a bit I guess lol

Ran into someone from my high school on campus. Torn between inviting them into campus organizations and just not interacting with them at all. There's a reason I left hs two years early lol, people there weren't the best.

Eh, I'll invite them. College is a place for change after all.

Also you can tell I have the same physics professor from last quarter because of how many emojis he puts in the titles of his assignments lol

Oh yeah, I finished* setting up my Notion workspace for this quarter. Unfortunately, only my differential equations class has all the assignments for the quarter listed, meaning that I'll have to add more assignments throughout the quarter, but it's mostly fine.

This usually takes up to 20ish minutes to do, but it does really help me in the long run, so I don't mind settling down and taking the time to copy paste everything in.

Winter Quarter Review

Not my best ending with calc III, but I think everything else went well. Didn't expect over a hundred in physics, especially with how rough the quarter started. I think I got blessed with pretty good professors this time around.

🖥️ Computer Science

7/10 class. Lectures were longer than they needed to be, so I ended up doing student org work during that class. Projects were fun though. Professor was an easy grader. A tad bit boring, accentuated by the length, though getting into functions the latter half of the quarter was interesting. One partner project at the end of the class which was fine I suppose.

📯 Calculus III

Didn't know what the hell was going on half the time lmaoo. Professor was a bit all over the place too. Love him though, kept it real. We had three exams in this class. I did okay-ish on the first exam with a 94, then got 100 on the second exam, then bombed the last exam with a 82. That week after the final I was like 'No way this is what finally fucks up my GPA', so I'm really relieved about this score lmaooo

⚛️ Engineering Physics I

Loved this class! One of my favorite classes I've taken so far, rivaling only my American Literature class where I got to write about Whitman's Leaves of Grass. I've never been a fan of applying math in the real world, but I also hadn't realized how cool it would be. Like we're all aware of how the world will work (ie cannonball moves in a parabola), but being able to relate math to it was so fun. The professor was also so chill. Loved the vibe he brought to late night classes and (later night) labs.

🏃🏻 The Hustle & Bustle

I was a bit more busy this quarter than in fall, think! I got involved with my campus' honor society, organized people for the legislative session, began giving reports at the student senate meetings, prepped for the DC trip, and was promoted to chair of my team at work.

❓ What to Change

Next quarter, I want to organize my notes a bit more, since I've been putting off paying for the Goodnotes upgrade even though it's like $12 a year.

I also want to get a binder if any of my classes have paper notes. I usually use my iPad to take notes, so the paper handouts I got just piled up in my folder.

Also! I need to work in break-days for finals. Studying for days on end with only a few hours as a break was rough. I was tired every morning, but still had to get up. I was tired every night but still had to study. I viewed every moment I wasn't studying or working as a waste of time which was a terrible mindset I think. I burned out fast, and I can't let that happen again.

🎒 Closing Statements

Overall a good quarter, academic-wise. I was a bit worried about the Calculus III + Engineering Physics I matchup, so I'm glad I got through it. It still sucked as a early morning class + late night class though. Fuckkkk. But it's fine, I got through it.

Kinda did terrible on the calculus final ngl. Since it was an asynchronous online exam, I got a bit nervous and wanted to get it over with, so I cut my studying short to just take it early. Not my finest moment, so I'll note it for the future. I should have ten or so extra credit points that'll be added to the exam, so hopefully that can carry my grade.

Not the best note to end the quarter with, so I wallowed a bit before getting ready for my flight.

Really upset over that exam. 100% my fault though. I spent more time studying for physics on the excuse that it was a harder class, when really I just found the content more fun and I liked the challenge of competing with that other guy in my class.

My calc grade with that final (before the professor goes in to manually look over the exam) is currently sitting at a 90, which isn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but I also really don't want this to be the class I lose my 4.0, and just because I was frivolous with how to delegate my study time.

Physics exam done!!!

Unfortunately, I don't think I got that sweet 111/100, but I'll try again next quarter since I have the same professor. He's so cool by the way, easily one of my favorite professors so far. Definitely making something for him before he retires this year.

Aside from that, I didn't do much else today. Slept in until 8 or so and studied at home. I went into the office for a few hours, just getting some work done and making sure everyone was getting their part done as well.

Pretty alright day! Now onto studying for my calc III final!

I was talking to some of my friends about my high school days and we spoke a bit about using frustration at people/scenarios as motivation to get ahead. Like the idea of being bullied and then tunneling that anger and hurt into becoming successful so you can eventually look down on them, stereotypical revenge story kind of things.

My take on it was that, for me at least, it isn't necessarily people you should be trying to spite or one-up, but what they represent as concepts or whatnot. Powerlessness maybe? The feeling of being ignored? The systems that stunted your development? Tying yourself to people (whether in a positive or negative way) never seems like a good idea. Anyways, I just thought that could be interesting.

Long study days also mean terribly unproductive contemplation, unfortunately. Sometimes I feel like I'm falling behind. And no one really takes me seriously when I say that, because 'technically' I'm a tad bit ahead, but it just feels like there's so much I could be doing right now.

My very vague and probably unrealistic long-term goal is to get my shit together by 27. That's still a good bit away for me, but also not??? I don't know, I'll figure it out.
