Nowcast Analysis

4/10/2015.

While this website may seem like a jumbled mess to some people, weather nerds like myself find it very useful! Using e-Wall, I am going to look at different models and analyze what is happening weather-wise on this fine Friday night. Because what else is there to do when your boyfriend plays GTA all night?! (Okay I’ll admit... I played earlier too LOL) 

All of these images are forecasted for 24 hours out.  

This 4 panel shot shows the differences between the WRF and AVN models of 850mb height/temp/wind and 850mb Relative Humidity. The focus here is in the northeast, as it will be for the rest of these maps due to the system that passed through early this morning.

WRF vs AVN 6hr precip and 24hr precip.  As we know from the cold front that passed through the southeast to northwest... that is where the highest precip values occurred. 

NAM vs GFS temp and temp change over the next 24 hours.  Very similar between the two. 

NAM vs GFS Cloud cover. As we’d expect, the majority of the clouds are exiting northeast US and moving on to Canada and the North Atlantic.  With that, we have another system moving in with clouds coming in from the northern Pacific into the northwest.  This system will truck through and provide us with hopefully some more exciting April thunderstorms! 

Lastly, precipitation ensembles.  The low pressure has moved out with another coming in around Washington.  With leftover heat and moisture from the Gulf, some storms linger in the south/Texas.  

Once you get used to all this page has to offer... it really is quite helpful!!
