My Celeb Twitter list
I have a total of twenty two celebs in my twitter list and more than half of them are artists. Some celebs on my list tweet quite often in one day, while others tweet once or twice a day. With the celebs that I am following you get the best of both worlds; you experience what they go through when promoting their work, while also getting a short glimpse of their personal life. Celebs on my list that are in a current promotional cycle of their career are, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Taylor Momsen and Lady Gaga. When following celebs currently in a promotional cycle, you get constant tweets of them telling you to buy their album, come see them perform at their concert, watch their new released music video or catch them at a late night talk show, this helps their fans keep up with them while also helping them make money. Sharing pictures is something that resonated with my celeb tweeters and the main source used for the pictures where instagram or just normal twitter. Some celeb tweets are also egotistical at times, which means that you might find them retweet a fans tweet that praises and adores them, which to me just says that if you want a retweet from a celebrity tweet nice things about them. There is a celeb in my list that actually interacts with her twitter followers, by having a follow day every Monday. Jennette Mccurdy of icarly and Sam and Cat sends out a constant tweet every Monday that plainly says “RT for a follow” and it always has at least 10,000 retweets, she calls this day Mccurdian Monday where her followers retweet the tweet and she tries to follow as many as she can, which is how I surprisingly got a follow from her. For good tweeters I would have to say Rihanna is, she tweets a lot and overshares a lot, her instagram is connected to her twitter so we get to see tons of pictures that she takes of herself and even her family. A lot happens in the celebrity world on twitter, there have been twitter wars, promotions, apologies and more. Almost every celeb uses twitter to participate in collective action, improving their image is something every celeb does and twitter has become the main source of social media used by celebrities to clarify their actions.
