Branding, Influencers and Human Observers, My final class blog post.
Last Blog Post for my social media class and I have to say its been a journey. As a class we have dissected certain parts of social media platforms, and have identified the proper way to use social media that will be beneficial to your life. I have learnt that when using social media platforms you should ALWAYS be aware that its not for your eyes only, but for everyone to see. Notice, Analyze and sort out the content of posts you make on the internet, realize that potential employers might look you up on the web.
To be a brand means to be a name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller's product distinct from those of other sellers. To be a brand in the social media world you have to first know who you are, and what about yourself you want to portray to the world.

Influencers in the social media world connect with their audience, they produce influential content that can positively impact their audience. You always want to be a positive influencer and not a negative one therefore people will always follow what you have to say. Being an influencer in LinkedIn is very beneficial seeing as how that is an online resume, it will be able to help you out professionally.

Finally, Human Observer, on social media a human observer might be identified as a lurker, someone who watches without joining in, (you can find out more about lurking and more social media terms in the book Trust Agents) but they are mainly identified as someone who watches their audience as a clue to find out what decisions they can make that would be beneficial to their audience.
My overall experience in a social media class has been eye opening, I feel like I discovered a whole new world in social media and I have to say it has been gratifying. I know how to carefully be responsible for all the social media platforms I have, and how to use it the right way so that it can impact me positively. The book Trust Agents is a very useful book on social media I highly recommend it as it thought me so much, it is full of insightful tips on how to harness the web to accomplish your goals.
The authors Chris Brogan and Julien Smith are examples of great influencers in the social media world. After taking this social media class I can confidently say that future employers that go through my social media accounts will not be disappointed in what they see, as I have used the insightful tips learned in my class and the book Trust Agents to change and brand myself positively.
