The LIVE rig.
In preparations for my next concert since the last one I had 2 weeks ago for the amazing Jeff Curry, I had to check another live solution instead on just relying on Cubase 6 as the core. With less than a month and a half I have a chance to change my LIVE-rig to be more efficient and less CPU-hungry, Ableton turned my computer-fans into a silent kitten. It’s a dream come true!
Ableton LIVE
Trying to get my head wrapped around this new thing and to know you could pretty much do anything you want with it, I’ve taken a few laps around the last few weeks and falling in love with it. I’ve seen people using Nuendo or Cubase for their live-sets but it always seems to fall short of being able to adapt right on the spot. With this setup and my EWI, I feel that ABLETON is singing in harmony like a true instrument rather than feeling like an imitation. I feel expressive, I feel I have the command at my fingertips and I feel I can sort out a system that really benefits my clients requests while performing on stage.
Customization
Thanks to countless input platforms like the Ableton Push and Launchpad, I am now able to create a 1 push, instrument-channel changer. Maybe even for fun, thrown in a LOOPER in the MASTER-channel. Not one person I’ve seen on youtube has the SAME system, and its time for me to create what suits me. One system for my EWI-RIG, one system for my DJ-sets and one setup for my one-man JAMs.
Let’s make EWI interesting for the FUTURE! And it’s happening RIGHT NOW!
