Next Gen AU- "A Writer & A Photographer"
Wattpad option ((Context: This was made out of inspiration from LilMonsterGirls Next Gen au- These ideas may change later on however))
Teddie sat by himself on the living room floor, he heard the pitter patted of rain and even the flashes & booms of thunder an lightning. Most importantly he could hear his dad writing, and even quietly mumbling to himself, it was relaxing to say the least. The electricity was off due to a power cut and his dad was spending time writing whilst Teddie himself laid down on the floor and closed his eyes. However his own thoughts ruined the moment so he got up and wandered into his fathers office. Maybe he could take a peek at what his father was writing, feed his curiosity a little.
'Father, can I watch you?' His soft voice caused the years older ginger jolt up in his seat and glance at his ten year old son with a warm smile. Matt then patted the seat next to him inviting his son to join him. The young boy did so, staring at the pile of paper in front of his dad.
'So what's this one about then?' He spoke inquisitively only to get a sigh and a deflated response.
'I don't know...I haven't started it off yet, think I might have run my brain dry...'
Teddie glanced at the paper then picked up a pen, slowly writing down a sentence, once finished he placed the pen down on the table.
'How about we take it in turns? I write a sentence, you write a sentence...'
Matt stared at his little novel writer and smiled, he picked up his pen and wrote a sentence from the top of his head then handed the pen to Teddie who wrote his sentence. This continued for quite some time.
It was morning, Teddie had woken up to the sound of his father laughing with a few others in another room. Confused, the boy went to investigate, there in the living room were men about his father's age, some Teddie knew and some he didn't.
A brunette looked at his friends young boy and smiled 'there's the little novel writer himself! What a story you two made together!' Teddie recognised the man next to his father and even the other two but the final ones he couldn't quite put his finger on.
'Uncle Tom, uncle Edd and uncle Tord? What are you doing here?' The older men responded cheerfully
'We wanted to visit our friend here...' uncle Edd began
'He's been kinda busy looking after you...' Uncle Tom continued.
'So we thought we'd bring ourselves round and pay a visit...' uncle Tord finished.
He couldn't believe that the actual red leader took time off to visit a friend, Teddie smiled warmly at them causing uncle Edd to speak up.
'He does have his mother's smile...right Ma-' Matt shot him a threatening glare 'oh...right...'
Teddie glanced at the two confused 'what was my mother like?' All four of the adults fell silent and glanced away, then from nowhere Uncle Tom decided to speak.
'your father described her as gorgeous like a rose and every time she spoke it was as if an angel was right there in front of him' Teddie stared at his third uncle who continued. 'He mentioned the dates they'd go on...how soft her skin felt whenever they touched, how her mousy brown hair would fly in the wind...she sounded...really beautiful, and sweet' he then finished with a kind smile.
Matt simply smiled sadly and got up 'I think it's time you should leave...it was nice meeting you all again but...all this talk about Vanessa...' he stopped his sentence before he could even mention anything else. Teddie sadly watched them leave as Matt just stared at the ground, slowly putting a hand through his hair.
'Father what did happen to mother?' Teddie looked at him, who just cringed at his question and mumbled.
'Father? Are you okay?' There was no response from the other in the same room. Teddie looked away from his dad and at the floor, Matt stood up and swiftly walked past his son.
'Follow me...' he walked inside their shared bedroom and pulled out a drawer from the bed, it was filled with small boxes.
'I took a photo of every adventure me and your uncles had...and even some of your mother' there was a soft tone in his fathers voice as he spoke lovingly about his old lover.
'But once she had you...I was going to lose you...I promised I'd look after you instead...' he opened one of the boxes with pictures of fields and a woman.
She had light blond hair in a tight bun, she were wearing some summer clothes. She smiled at the camera, eyes closed, sun shining in her face. Teddie smiled at the image of his mother.
'What was she like?' He glanced up at his father, who looked back at him with a sad smile.
'An artist, who spoke words of wonder,
She'd never flinch at the sound of thunder,
Her hair would glow in the shining light,
And her eyes shined so bright.' Matt softly spoke from his own cursive handwriting on the back of the photo. Teddie stared at his father's photography work, then noticed the camera that his father used.
'Father could I try photography?' He glanced at Matt with a smile. The ginger nodded at him.
