Welp, Miklotov has made me think enough of something to the point I shall elaborate on my budding suspicions.
Before I delve into what’s been brewing, I would like to analyze something Miklotov says here. He calls Wilhelm “honorable” which sounds expected on the surface… til you remember Wilhelm is officially someone who deserted for his own personal reasons. I think this is a very interesting glimpse into Miklotov’s values.
Anyways, onto what’s been bothering me about Miklotov for awhile. In Ex 1 I discussed how when Miklotov was talking with that trainer as he asked if Fourier had the Intuition that it was peculiar Miklotov seemed to be looking for this trait so insistently as if he knew something bad was due to occur soon.
Miklotov last Novel is ALSO the person who immediately sends out Roswaal to deal with the magic circles that the demi-human forces were utilizing. Roswaal wouldn’t exactly be known as a magic user this era, so having Miklotov send her out is a rather peculiar choice with this in mind even as it is objectively the correct play.
Miklotov in LN 4 is also the only person in the entire hall to notice Roswaal & Puck putting on their little circus act, which is basically Miklotov’s first intro to the audience & Tappei chooses to make the impression of the Wise Man the audience gets as one whom is abnormally perceptive.
Here, we also again have Miklotov’s perception be highlighted outright as Tappei describes the man as having “perceptive eyes” as he peers upon Wilhelm.
Eyes have been notably highlighted in this narrative to be something of perception, with Crusch commenting that her own eyes were NOT perceptive as she thought she’d been fooled by Subaru’s clumsiness when going out to the city during the Successful Whale Negotiation when Subaru reveals info he has about her forces’s peculiar movements.
Last post I also had the fact that there was a fair implication based on Miklotov’s dialogue that the man knew Wilhelm was going to be at Pivots grave somehow with how he spoke of this being an “unexpected place” for an “unexpected person” which imo seemed to denote shock at the fact Wilhelm was there implying to me that Miklotov was specifically waiting there for somebody but wasn’t aware who?
Basically, to sum up what all of this is leading to… does Miklotov have some kind of connection to Fate & is guided by its Intuition in some facet?
I am not saying he has the Lion King Intuition (since he doesn’t appear to have traits befitting of a royal family member) but I think it’s not unreasonable to say he has something tying him to Fate?
Clearly, the idea of Lugunica’s leadership itself is tied to Fate with how the Dragon Tablet exists & we have potential-prophet Reinhard speaking in LN 4 how the Kingdom was following its edicts.
Also. Tappei in LN 4 & Ex 1 has explicitly highlighted how it’s really Miklotov running the country of Lugunica, so with how Tappei’s tied the idea of Fate to Lugunica’s leadership it seems intuitive to me to connect the one whom is Lugunica’s leader to Fate.
I suppose I’ll have to wait & see how Miklotov pans out here because these connections don’t seem to be a coincidence to me.
