I had this book locket, and made it into my favorite Leitner, Ex Altiora. Originally the locket was just metal and had a sticker on the front.

OOC - I've for the most part decided the format of my Ex Altiora writing, it's going to be 16 stanzas with 6 lines each, the same formatting as Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven. As much as the podcast describes it as a long poem, I don't think I have it in me to write much more than that, especially since it got compared to VIRGIL, who wrote books waaaaaay longer than I could in a language I've only studied for three years. I do however want to make it into a small physical book, so I may have to attempt a combination of large font (it'll be handwritten, so that shouldn't be too hard), small pages, thick paper, and leaving a lot of pages for the illustrations.

As for the pictures, I have a design for the cover (which I'll likely paint). I've never done woodcuts before and I don't think I could learn for the sake of this, but if anyone knows any way I could achieve the same look with different materials let me know!!

The last thing to figure out, though, is what to include in the illustrations. I still can't decide if I want to make the pre-Mike Crew version or the version that has the Lichtenburg figure, so getting people's opinions on that would help a lot.

Might have just found a Leitner. Went to an op shop and found an old book that’s a modern retelling of Icarus but where he is trying to solve these murders where people seemed to throw themselves off of high buildings…plus with lots of “flying to close to the sun” and falling motifs…

If that’s not Vast coded then idk what is. I was looking for a book to turn into an Ex Altiora prop so this is kind of perfect

2 new bracelets.

The "white" pony beads on the "EX ALTIORA" bracelet turn blue in the sun and glow in the dark. Of course, it's not sunny enough to get a pic today.

"CAT DAD" Is a bracelet for my son for Father's Day. The colors were chosen from a COD color palette

ETA a picture of the UV color change beads in the sun. The camera doesn't really show it, but I promise they're like, a sky blue.

All we know about the content of Ex Altiora (as far as I’ve gotten at least) is this:

It’s in Latin

It’s in the style of Virgil

The plot

Virgil’s style was writing in dactylic hexameter, also the meter that Homer wrote the Iliad and Odyssey, and thankfully scansion and meter in Latin are pretty easy to figure out imo (it has like 3 rules and my Latin class is going over poems so it’s pretty fresh in my mind), so I probably could reasonably write a short version of Ex Altiora

Don’t get me wrong it would take a WHILE but I could probably do it eventually
