Treasure Hunt
Plentiful were the stories of lost treasures and relics in Shurima; remnants of the olden days in which gods walked the land and fought great battles to expand the empire’s reach. For the most part, Xerath cared little for these stories; he had little use for mere trinkets and baubles, which drew in feeble minds that craved wealth, adventure, or both. However... There were a few relics that he had taken an interest in. It had been quite a surprise to learn that after his imprisonment, the so-called ‘guardians’ of Shurima turned on one-another and fought for centuries, driving each other to extinction...
And yet, their weapons remained. Even if a god-warrior died, their weapons still remained and held great power; the fact that the chalicar had opened the tomb was proof of that. Surely, one of these relics must hold the power to break the bonds that had persisted around Xerath for so long, and so it was that he scoured the lands he laid claimed to for any hint of an Ascendant’s resting place.
Now, finally, he had found one. Setting out with only a small entourage of about fifty people, the Magus set forth into the Great Sai to seek out the ancient weapon, unaware that another was seeking the same thing... Or that their paths would soon cross.
