oh my god!!! it's the NEW MINERAL MONTHLY
not very talkative this September so lets get to it:
first is a newly released bit of Core Mineralism (its even on West Mineral!): SHINETIAC. another supergroup in the midst, it's PONTIAC STREATOR, BEN BONDY, and newcomer(?) SHINER, hence the name (up until very recently were Shinetiac Strondy which is so funny). Sludged up. microscopic. funny choices. an Everlong edit.
second is from USOF. they do a lot of cool primordial collage stuff. from related label Enmossed, they have a new tape Wish You Were Nicer, filled with Very Very Visceral textures, sounds almost bordering alien ASMR.
enmossed also released this at the same time from Mineralist regular EXAEL, but i wasnt frothing that one as hard if i'm honest
third, two new tracks from tangentially orbiting player NEXCIYA. beautiful dub techno influences are clear as day here and you could not ask for more
fourth, spinner of Big Squelch Sounds DJ BIRDBATH, last seen on APPX records, quietly released 4 active tracks of aptly named Soup.
lastly, Purelink announced an album out soon. and i am so very excited about this <3
hope you are having a more OK time i will see you later & i love U
Calm Down Vol. IV
Vol. IV here, and possibly the last one in the series. The last one for a while at least. This is the very calmest of the calm volumes. Suitable for all aforementioned activities, this one is also actually recommended for falling asleep to.
I've been saving these tracks for this volume specifically. Nothing too trebly or doomy, or remotely soundtrack-y over-dramatic. The first few tracks are the "busiest" here, with their slow-motion, intermittent flourishes and rhythms. From there on, the barely-there rhythms disappear and things get drone-y and dreamy. Enjoy...
