Even prophet Muhammed wasn't sure if he's going to enter Jannah/Paradise ☝️
Sahih Muslim 2818a (and Bukhari 6464)
Aisha reported:
“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Follow the right course, be devoted, and give glad tidings. Verily, none of you will enter Paradise by his deeds alone.’ They said: ‘Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied: ‘Not even myself, unless Allah grants me His mercy. Know that the most beloved deed to Allah is the one that is done consistently - even if it is small.’”
Muhammad explicitly stated that not even he could enter Paradise solely based on his works - he needed Allah’s mercy. That’s a significant expression of uncertainty about his own guaranteed place in Jannah.
So.. if even the prophet of Allah was not sure, what assurance do you have?
Muslims - especially the devout - cannot gamble, for it is haram. A man, in some muslim countries, cannot buy insurance because it is considered gambling.
But gambling with your soul is permissible?
Why I chose Christianity after my journey through agnosticism and studying Islam ::
Jesus said (in John 10:28), “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
That is surety. My salvation is sealed. An eternal covenant.
If Jesus had been a liar, why did God resurrect Him?
If God didn't really resurrect Jesus, where is His corpse?
Why did the disciples die for a lie - for a promise of salvation, hope, and mercy? They didn't spread Christianity by the sword (the muslims did, however, but that's another story). They gave and preached the gospel willingly, freely, without embellishment, and allowed themselves to be martyred.
All for a lie? When they could easily point to where they possibly hid Jesus' corpse?
Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.”
which is the opposite of islam, which demands collecting good deeds - as per the Five Pillars (Shahada, Salah, Zakat, Sawm, Hajj) - as in salvation is entirely Work-based. Salvation is not received freely, it is earned.
Where in Christianity, salvation is freely given - but sin can cause you to lose your grip over it. And since God is just, He honors your freewill and decision to remain unrepentant and sends you to a deserved afterlife. In Islam, salvation is uncertain even for prophets, and completely conditional - you better hope all the work you've done is enough to please allah.
If salvation depends on accumulating prayers, fasts, hajj, and jihad, those physically unable to perform these deeds are at an inherent disadvantage. Islam has some allowances for exemptions, of course, like not fasting if ill. but "missing deeds" still equals "missing reward". This directly contradicts justice, because people are judged by quantity of works, not equality of opportunity. It's basically a scam. A never-ending debt. You bribe your way to heaven and hope it's enough.
He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. (quran 3:129)
A Christian is promised eternal life through sincere belief. Sacrifice and death hastens his reward in eternity.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of My hand. (John 10:28)
A Muslim is promised nothing but a gamble - hoping maybe allah isn't on his period when they die.
There’s an even more disturbing twist, if you actually believe that muslims are assured salvation.
In Sahih Muslim 6665, Muhammad said,
“On the Day of Resurrection, some Muslims will come with sins as heavy as mountains, and Allah will forgive them and put their sins upon Jews and Christians instead.”
So in Islamic theology, even if you’re loaded with sins, you can still make it to paradise .... not because you were righteous, but because someone else gets punished in your place. Not the same way that Jesus offered Himself willingly to pay for our sins, but unwillingly - without caution or consent.
That’s not justice. That’s a cosmic Ponzi scheme.
In Islam, you’re working to pay off a debt that never goes away - and hoping Allah “approves” at the end.
In Christianity, the debt is paid in full by Christ. You walk free, forgiven, adopted, and assured.
That's why I chose Christianity over Islam and agnosticism.
added: Yea yeah, I know about the "la ilaha illa allah" upon death - secret password to get into paradise.
(Sahih al-Bukhari 5827, Sahih Muslim 94)
That's also a lie.
How is it a lie, you ask?
The quran itself refutes the “automatic paradise” idea:
“Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire…” (quran 4:145)
if simply saying the shahada upon death is the secret to paradise,
Muhammad would've been more sure of where he'd end up.
But what did he say?
“By Allah, though I am the Messenger of Allah, I do not know what Allah will do to me.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6605)
