Hello! This is the time travel au anon back again to tell you about more of my brain rot ideas! So I've definitely settled of the time travel au with Jax and Y also remembering the past alongside the others simply because of how utterly delicious that concept is, and I've thought about a few other stuff too. Like for the original timeline, I think the mc will have almost gone the Arthur route with feelings definitely being there before eventually betraying the group and ending up with Y. I need to have that with Arthur possibly wanting to kindle things with mc now that the whole mc being on the side of Y is no longer a problem, with the added deliciousness of Y who I imagine still considers mc to be their partner wanting to take mc back. Because the possibility of the Y/mc/Arthur love V is way to delicious to pass up. I have this image in my head of mc walking around exploring town without the others around (maybe they got separated maybe the others are busy idk yet) and I have this image of Y (Who's probably wearing a hood or something to keep their identity hidden) placing a hand on mc's shoulder pressing themself close to mc's back saying "There you are darling, I've been looking everywhere for you" (think Sofie's first meeting with howl in howl's moving castle) and ahhhhhh safe to say I am obsessed with your story. I can't wait to read more of your if and will definitely be replaying it for the millionth time soon. I hope you don't mind me sharing my fanfic ideas with you this idea is just too delicious not to share with someone, and since you liked my earlier ask I thought you would like to hear more.

Them all being stuck on some sort of a time loop, with memories randomly coming back, would definitely be an experience 😂 It's a fascinating thing to explore, considering the MC's own circumstances in the game!

Confession time: I'm your friendly neighborhood love triangle enjoyer 😅 It fits these two (Y and Arthur) particularly well because there is absolutely no love lost between them. It "helps" that they have quite a twisted and uncharitable take on the other's relationship with the MC too, so neither has qualms about intruding on anything.

After all these betrayals, Arthur can't stop wondering: who will betray me next?

That might be depressing, but it becomes a fun game between him and the knights.

Gwaine: oh that's easy, if I were to betray you, it's because i had to choose between you and Merlin.

Leon: i would only betray you, if i was brainwashed by a sorcerer, sire.

It goes on like that. And then they begin tossing ideas about Merlin, when he's not there.

Arthur: *joking* he would totally betray me, as soon as the next sorcerer threatens his life. He's a coward.

Everybody laughs: we all know that's not true, Sire.

Arthur: well, then, if i lifted the ban on magic he would surely-

Lancelot: nope, don't even go there. *In his head*: He would probably marry you if you did that *

Arthur: okay, what if i was being especially rude to him from now on and put him in the stocks and-

Gwen: yeah no. That's hardly different from normal. He would never.

Arthur: what if he was brainwashed????like leon said?

Leon: *nervous* actually that did happen once and he failed to put even a scratch on you.

Arthur: what? *Continues staring at Leon in utter confusion*

Leon: i kinda.... *Accidentally* gave him a weapon to kill you because i thought it was a joke? *Shrinks into himself*

Arthur: we're definitely going to talk about that later....

Anyway. So, what if I killed his best fr- no shit, Will did actually die for me. If i killed his girl- no Merlin has no love interest. What if I killed his dad? No wait, the guy is dead too.

Gwaine: wait.... I'm not Merlin's best friend??????

*gets ignored*

Arthur: come on guys, help me out! When would Merlin betray me? If I asked him to? No, if I ORDERED him to.

Gwen: merlin never listens to your orders.

Arthur: what if he was bribed? What if he was tortured?

Lancelot: that has all happened, Sire

Arthur: *so fucking done* the fuck, WHEN?!?!?!

So wait, what if Merlin had magic!!!! Magic corrupts! He would totally-

Everyone collectively: NO

*staring at each other*

Gwaine: so i guess we all knew but that guy over there, hmm?

Arthur: what- what are you guys talking about?

Gwen: *sighs* you know what Arthur. We were all wrong. We would all betray you, if you betrayed Merlin.

Gwaine: called it!!!!!

Arthur: *feels betrayed already* guys, if merlin had magic- i would have to kill him! Surely HE would betray ME first, wouldn't he?

Lancelot: Sire, with all due respect. If you sentenced Merlin to death, he would light the pyre himself.

max is a bit different, because for the most part he hasn’t even realized he’s gay. half of how he feels currently is the feelings that he’s repressed, and the other half are very very closeted feelings that he tries to hide in fear of what his family will think. so there hasn’t really been an exact moment of realization for him yet. basically, he’s just a hot mess.
