we as a species have reached a point in evolution so high up that to survive we no longer need to learn to hunt and gather. We need to learn advanced arithmetics, biology, chemistry, 3 languages to get somewhere in life, writing skills, sports, socialization skills, health, psychology, algebra; we need to get trough at least a decade and a half of school and then spend the rest of our lives working our asses off everyday 'til the day we die because that way, we no longer need to hunt and gather.
