Since some of you guys seemed to like Exended I’ll share a bit of his Lore
He’s from the sonic universe he exists in!!! Its kinda inbetween modern and classic, think,, the Adventure games. He’s made of space matter and kind of floated through infinite space until he arrived at a planet where sentient life existed, life that he could latch onto and learn from— that planet being earth/mobius wherever sonic actually lives nowadays
So skipping all the origin stuff, his character is kind of a similar to Xeno’s in that he’s obsessed with sonic, but he’s obsessed with sonic so much he wants to be sonic. Hence his form taking his appearance, as he basically copies the biological data and dna of creatures and changes his for, to look more similar to them.
He’s very twisted in his goal to be sonic, though. Not only does he kill people, he uses them as puppets in order to make his own world where he’s the hero. This stops at nobody, but one mobian, and sonic himself, as he has a massive adoration for Sonic and wants to be his friend— his best friend. The only other mobian he wouldn’t kill would be Tails, as doing so.. well. Sonic would nor appreciate that, to say the least.
He can reset the world back to certain time periods like xenophanes in most other sonic.exe games, to repeat himself being a hero and to fix things incase something doesn’t go to plan. Sonic and Tails remember this, nobody else does.
You could say he isn’t exactly aware that what he’s doing is wrong— he’s not from Earth exactly, and he doesnt really know our morals or right from wrong since he’s never been taught. With that being said, he is a redeemable villain, and can be taught. He can feel guilt and shame, and it becomes a pretty big part in his story :)
