Okay, so, yesterday I woke up at 4:50 in the morning (more like up and down since 1:30... but whatever) and drove all the way to Greensboro to take my AFAA Group Exercise Certification.
Honestly? I had a great time. I would do it again if I had to. If you want to teach group exercise, I definitely recommend it as the way to go.
You go through everything you need to know. I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to fail... but I guess we will see in a few weeks when I get my results in. I'm still super nervous because there were some questions on the written part of the exam that I was a little iffy about... but I know I id fine on the practical.
For the first time ever, I actually instructed people what to do. It was a little nerve wrecking, but I got it.
We also had a cardio portion where I got off beat a couple times, but there was a lot to think about honestly.
I don't know. All around, it was a good experience. I definitely recommend it to everyone that wants to go into teaching group exercise. They also have a bunch of different classes you can take in specific types of exercises, like pilates, yoga, kick boxing, etc.
If anyone on here wants to take it/is going to take it, and has any questions, just let me know. I'm willing to answer them!
