This drill helps relieve tension in the neck, shoulders, and thoracic spine regions while also providing a gentle hip/psoas stretch. Sit with both knees at a 90' angle as in the video and then twist your torso toward your front knee. Use your hands to walk into the twist and use your wrist to block against the knee (if able) if you want more of a stretch. Then begin to perform slow and controlled neck rotations in each direction. Inhale as you lift your head up and back and exhale while rotating it down in the front. Lengthen through your neck while performing this drill to improve the stretch, especially while tilting back. Go slow! Focus on expanding your chest and lungs to feel the stretch through your obliques and lats when you inhale. Exhale the neck long when down in front and feel the stretch through your traps. This is great to do as a breathing drill to start or finish your workout. Also great right when waking or right before sleeping. Shoot for 5-10 circles going both directions, then swap the legs to 90/90 on the other side and repeat. #mobility #flexibility #warmup #cooldown #neckpain #shoulderpain #breathingexercise #deepbreathing #bellybreathing #parasympathetic #exercisedemo #exerciselibrary _______________________________ Kempf Fitness Professional is a holistic training platform that was designed to bring you valuable information and coaching to improve your health, fitness, and overall life quality.
