Week 13: Discordant
I really enjoyed using the masking technique to really capture crisp clean lines. I plan on using this technique sometime in the future. I did notice, depending on the lighting, depends how the photo turns out in white and black and also how the color dries is a factor. I also decided to use only two colors for the shapes since I didn’t realize I had to choose a color for the background too.
Week 14: Reverse Painting
So for my reverse painting I decided to paint a “Sorry we’re closed” sign. I thought this was appropriate for the pandemic since many businesses had to close, like my own work. I tried my best to clean up the lines of the letters but it was difficult with the brush I had. I also scraped up whatever white paint that was out of line but as I painted the red I noticed the areas I missed. I’m actually not too mad about it coming out the way it did because it gives it a worn down look that fits.
Week 12: Collage
I definitely like the first photo. I like how the shapes form another shape in the middle. It almost reminds me of a picture frame.
Week 11: Albers Exercises
For this exercise, I actually found it quite difficult. The top is two colors appear as one and the bottom is one color appear as two. I think I’ll eventually go back and redo it.
Week 10: Warm and Cool Color
I went for a night time theme for my collage painting. I wanted the cool yellow to have a neon glow and for the deer to bring warmth.
Week 9: Color Wheel
For some odd reason I was only given Cadmium Red and not the deep or light red. I tried my best to complete the color wheel and other exercises :/ I noticed the missing paint once I got to the yellows which I have.

Week 6&7: Drapery
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to go in with more glazes since my painting has been taking so long to dry 😕 I didn’t want to be impatient with the process so I decided to work on the cow pattern. Excited to go back in and build the glaze to create more of a glow and darken some areas.
