Exhailers and Frank @ The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham, 14th July 2016

I wasn’t planning to go to 2 gigs in a row this week, but I downloaded Pokemon Go on Thursday and decided to stay out and see Frank on a whim. Unfortunately The Sunflower Lounge isn’t a Pokestop - but Nostalgia & Comics is, and it’s on the same stretch of road. (I try to keep my comics and zines in stock there)

I’m really glad I stayed out in the end, it was a great little energetic gig. They said it was their last show as Frank :’(. They are all great musicians and I hope to see them all continue making music in the future. I also sketched Exhailers who opened the night - another little band worth keeping an eye on.

Nachthexen and Martha @ Scruffy Murphys, 15th July 2016

Jane (illustrator - her work is beaaautttiiffulll) and Steph (Sonic the Comic/Maybe Don’t) both recommended Martha to me - Thanks guys!! I lllooovvveee them!!

Scruffy Murphys is a Pokestop! So between bands there was a regular influx of Pokemon being lured in - Lots of hard rock Fairy types which I found entertaining. Jane documented a Drowzee stage invasion while Nachthexen were setting up X’D !!

I was drawing every other band this week to reserve energy - but Okinawa Picture Show (see OPS gig sketches tag) and Personal Best were both awesome too!
