Day 19! of #OC-Tober. Fruit.
Thanks to @oc-growth-and-development for the prompts!
Exi was used to such things. Gegenees had to be- her dear old father was reinstalling the doorways of his home having passed the eight foot mark- and besides, the temporary settlement for Mystics was tight and temporary for anyone.
Still, the sales of actual solid homes to Mystics was proceeding- the Mayborough gorgons were due to move in within three days, and provided no humans messed with their headdresses or shades, there shouldn’t be any unfortunate incidents.
Her stump ached. Someone was bound to get petrified. She scanned the email- three daughters, and two sons, though they were harmless- all due to start school alongside humans as soon as possible. Of course, any paralysis was temporary, but the less the better.
Even so, Mrs Mayborough ended the email wit thanks, a picture of her family all lined up, the girls golden eyes bright and sharp teeth bared. Excited for school, for days without any painful shapeshifting disguises. She could hardly blame them. Such was the fruits of their efforts, she hadn’t had to disguise in four months now.
It made the hard work- even this boring administration- worth it.
