“You didn’t say your favor was Steve Roger!” James Mortia, named after his father and his old war buddy, hissed.
Jim shrugged. “What’s it matter? He’s a damn good nurse.”
“Have you watched the news?” James exclaimed. “He’s all over it. An accomplice of the Winter Soldier! He helped him escape.”
“Son, there’s more going on here than you think. Cap’s a good friend, and he needs help.” Jim looked at his son, a reflection of the past. “Please, I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t important.”
James wanted to scream. ‘You ask too much! You always have…’ but he’d never seen his father look like this. He’s never seen his father ask for help. And he couldn’t find it in him to refuse. “Fine.”
