“Do you really have to go?” Sehun asked in a whining voice. He reached out and took your dress out of your suitcase. You turned back around to place another sweater in the suitcase and gave him a look of exhaustion. You took the dress back from him and placed it in its spot. He sighed, pouting as you continued to pack your clothes. “Come on! You just had a baby and you are seriously going to leave?” He asked in an attempt to guilt-trip you. You closed the suitcase, zipping it shut, and leaned over towards your husband. You kissed him, but he refused to stop pouting.
You pulled away and gave him a serious look. “Sehun, I’ve already told you, I’m going to go see my sister. She just out of the hospital from the car accident and I have to help her for a week until her husband comes back from his business trip.” You reminded him lovingly. He started shaking his head, rolling his eyes as he did. You placed your hand on his cheek and moved his face so that he was looking at you. “Is it that bad that you are going to be alone with Sunghye so bad?”
Sehun gave you a look of annoyance, as though you had just insulted him. “Of course it isn’t bad. I love her. I just… I don’t know what to do. What if I mess up? Or what if she gets hurts?” He asked in a smaller voice. You smirked at his vulnerability. You loved that he was always sassy and confident in himself, but the rare times when he let his soft side show was extremely heartwarming to you. You crawled onto the bed in front of him and sat on his lap. You placed your fingers in his hair, moving it out of his face.
He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close against him. He kissed your forehead, taking in a deep breath. “I’m sorry, Hunnie. I know that it will be hard. I hate leaving my two babies, but I don’t really have an option in this. My sister is home alone and she really needs me to be there for her.” You apologized.
With a long sigh, he pulled fell back onto the bed and pulled you down with him. He kept you captured in his arms and placed his legs around you. You knew how strong his thighs were, so it was useless to try and push yourself up. You remained in that spot for a long moment, not really wanting to leave either. The two of you remained silent. This was the first time you were leaving him in a long time, and it didn’t help that your baby girl was barely a few months old. You understood why Sehun was so nervous, but at the same time, you knew that this would be a really good experience for him. Since the birth, he had been busy with promotions and the new album. It was finally time for his break, and you were the one who would be leaving.
The sound of Sunghye crying in the other room broke the moment. Sehun closed his eyes momentarily, hating the sound of his little girl crying. You pushed yourself up, starting to make your way to the room, but stopped when you felt Sehun grab your wrist. You turned around to look at him in confusion, but he just smiled up at you. “Let me handle this one. I’m going to have to learn eventually.” He said as he stood up. You followed him into the room where Sunghye had just awoken from her midday nap. She cried up to the two of you, reaching up into the air to signal that she needed someone.
Sehun leaned over the crib and picked up his baby effortlessly. He bought her up so he was cradling her close to his face. “Hey Sunghye, you okay? Appa is right here. There is nothing to cry about.” He told her in a loving, sing-song voice. He rocked her lightly in his arms, but she continued to cry. He brought her closer to his face, a bit hesitantly, and sniffed. She didn’t smell like she needed to be changed, but she still cried. He slowly turned around to give you a desperate look.
“Food.” Was all you said.
He felt absolutely embarrassed for not having thought about that. He refused to show you that he was embarrassed and just put on of his cocky looks on his face. “I know that. I was just testing you.” He informed you; as though you should have realized that. You nodded your head and followed as he carried her to the kitchen. With her still cradled in the nook of his left arm, he reached into the fridge and pulled out one of the several prepared bottles, and placed it into the microwave like you had shown him while you were still pregnant.
As he waited for the bottle to finish warming up, he started to play a bit with Sunghye. He brought her around the room, bouncing as he moved. He picked up one of her discarded dolls from the kitchen table and held it in front of her. She giggled, bringing out his own little laughter. He handed her the small doll as he grabbed her bottle. He made sure that it wasn’t too hot before feeding her. She instantly calmed, almost sighing as she finally got fed.
“See, it isn’t that hard. You will do perfectly fine while I’m away.” You reassured him with a smile. You came up to his side and watched as he fed her. In that moment, the three of you looked like a picture perfect family. Sehun smiled down at you, kissing you quickly before turning his full attention back to the precious bundle in his arms.
Once she was done eating and the three of you returned to your room so you could make sure that you had everything packed. Sehun didn’t seem up to protesting anymore, and instead he played with Sunghye. He handed her one of his slender fingers, smiling brightly when she grabbed it in her tight baby grip. He looked up at you, chuckling a little. “Wow, she has her father’s strength, good looks, and I’m sure she has my brains. What did she get from you?”
“Wow, love you too, honey. Can’t wait to come home.” You said in a mockingly pained voice and kissed him and Sunghye.
