*Notice: this is my personal take on their personalities. I obviously don’t know them irl. This is also a short description of each member, so I’m leaving a lot out!
Sehun: Oh Sehun, EXO-K, rapper/dancer.This brat. He’s a box of chocolates. In interviews, he tends to be shy and not say much, just kind of glares off camera with that death stare of his, but he’s actually the fluffy-yet-equally-savage maknae. He makes friends easily, has an ironic humour, loves fashion, cute things (he has a plush called pinku pinku), bubble tea, and Luhan. He likes to tease the older members and get away with it by being the “baby.” He’s really grown into himself in the last couple of years (but he’ll always be my noodle). Best friends: Luhan (actually his lover), Suho, Kai, Chanyeol
Kai: Kim Jongin, EXO-K, dancer/rapper. Probably one of the hardest workers in kpop. He is on the reserved side, but he has a quirky/dry humor and a laugh that will make your heart stop. He is obviously extremely passionate about dance, and he is pretty serious when it comes to their work. The fandom divides him up into fluffy, bubbly “Nini” and sexy, ladykiller “Kai” but he really is both at once. He loves his dogs, his family, chicken and sleeping. He cares so much, and I think he has trouble expressing it. His airport fashion is on point. Best friends: D.O., Sehun, Chanyeol
Tao: Huang Zitao, EXO-M, rapper/singer. He’s an accomplished martial artist and loves fashion (Gucci in particular). His nickname is Kungfu Panda (because of his martial arts and his dark circles). He’s sensitive, a diva, loves cute things, is easily scared, whiny, loving, and quick to defend. He adores taking selcas and pictures in general. He’s very curious and a little naive I think and has a childish charm in that way despite his mature look. He can be pretty judgemental and moody, but he’s simultaneously very accepting and sweet. Best friends: Kris, Sehun
D.O.: Do Kyungsoo, EXO-K, singer. Also referred to as Satansoo because he can be savage af. He is known for his death glare, but apparently it stems from his really poor eyesight not his distaste for humanity. He’s known for beating Chanyeol. He is also rather reserved and is a serious actor (he’s been in films and dramas). He’s on the “awkward” side, often getting embarrassed by the “idol-y” things he has to do, but he always laughs his way through it. He is a very good cook and takes care of Jongin. Best friends: Kai, Suho, Baekhyun (it’s a love-hate relationship lol)
Chanyeol: Park Chanyeol, EXO-K, rapper/singer. The first of the “beagle line” (the members born in 92 known for being playful like beagles). This boy, so energetic. He’s always with someone talking and laughing loudly. He loves music so much (he plays a bunch of different instruments and composes). I feel like in a room, he’s always present (because he’s so damn tall and because he’s got that damn smile that blinds everybody). He loves to tease and play around. He’s also an actor and has been on reality shows outside of Showtime. Best friends: Baekhyun, Sehun, Kai
Baekhyun: Byun Baekhyun, EXO-K, singer. Beagle, savage. He’s known for mimicking the other members and being loud af all the time (apparently he sings in the middle of the night). He loves to tease, is very vivacious and cunning. Also known as “Bacon.” When I saw him at exo’luxion, people seemed surprised at how calm he was, but I wasn’t. He takes his work very seriously, and he puts his all into everything. I think he’s smart about people, he understands them (which is why he’s good at teasing) but he is also good at consoling. Scared of rollercoasters and loves bunnies. Best friends: Chanyeol, D.O., Chen
Chen: Kim Jongdae, EXO-M, singer. The final beagle. His smile could kill a country. He’s energetic and bouncy, but he knows how to control himself (unlike some of the members lol). He’s very charismatic in a very real way, like that popular guy in high school who you wanted to hate but he’s just seriously the nicest person. He likes to stay positive, though I think it’s hard for him sometime. He’s friendly, but I don’t think he makes close friends that easily. He’s been in a musical and slayed on King of Masked Singer. Best friends: Xiumin, Baekhyun
Lay. Zhang Yixing, EXO-M, dancer/singer. This boy works like a horse and he is the sweetest, most beautiful human being on the planet. He can be naive and spacey, but he’s also very insightful and down-to-earth. He doesn’t speak a lot, mainly letting the other members control the mood. He falls into depressions and soars to highs pretty easily. He’s hilarious (as proof from Go! Fighting) and his dancing oh my god he can work. His autobiography is not only extremely popular but also critically acclaimed. Best friends: Luhan
Suho. Kim Joonmyeon, EXO-K, leader/singer. MOM. He takes care of his children like no other. He is the supportive soccer mom, the bad-joke-making dad, and rock hard 6-pack abs all rolled into one. He comes from money, so he is also known as “$uho” and often buys the members things. He’s known for crying when they win awards. which attests to the fact that he cares for the group so much. He’s very sassy and is the only member with a degree (acting). Best friends: Sehun, D.O.
Kris: Wu Yifan (Kevin Wu), EXO-M, M-leader/rapper. DAD. Known as the “cold guy” because he likes to (pretend) to be cool and distant, when he is really just a pile of second-hand embarrassment. He likes fashion, basketball, and acting. Also known as “GalaxyFanFan” because of his ig handle and his obsession with anything galaxy print. He speaks four languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Korean). He’s the friend that seems like he’s trying so hard to be cool, but knows that he’s a mess inside and out lol. Best friends: Tao, Suho, (dad figure to Chanyeol in particular)
Luhan: Lu Han, EXO-M, singer. Likes to say that he is super “manly” even though he looks like he walked out of a shojo manga. He’s awkward and funny, but he owns it and isn’t afraid of saying what he thinks. He makes friends with everyone and seems to have a (sometimes not so) subtle confidence about him. Literally such a pervert (just trust me on this). He’s really sweet and funny but then he hits you with something savage or bratty outta nowhere. I think people have a tendency to overlook those aspects of his personality. Best friends: Sehun, Xiumin, Lay
Xiumin: Kim Minseok, EXO-M, singer/rapper. Easily the shyest/most reserved member on camera, but when I saw him at exo’luxion, he was all about interacting with the audience and being cute and bubbly. Loves coffee. He likes to clean and keep things organized (unlike just about everyone else) and often keeps his thoughts to himself. He is very sweet and understanding, known as “baozi” or “little bun.” Also known as “daddy” for his totally lickable abs oh my god. He is also an actor and has been in an independent web drama. Best friends: Luhan, Chen
I could go on and on about these boys, but I hope this was a quick and (accurate?) way to get to know them! I also suggest watching Weekly Idol and EXO Showtime to really get to see them for yourself!
