Here is something for the fans of "The Ritual": „Begone Satan! A Soul Stirring Account of Diabolical Possession in Iowa – After 23 Day’s Battle in December 1928, Devil Was Forced to Leave“, which is a basis for the film, is available for free in digitalized form at the Internet Archive and it has 52 pages. Don't be surprised, it wasn't written by Father Joseph Steiger and also no by Rev. Theophilus Riesinger, but of course they are mentioned in it and there are also photos of them.

My hyperfixation regarding Dan Stevens started last November and if you would compare it to a fire, it started like a roaring wild fire and now is more like softly glowing embers. 😅 But it's still there. I just had another idea for a fanfiction about one of his characters. Despite not really having time for it atm, I started writing a little bit on that, because otherwise that fanfiction plotbunny would not leave me in peace. 😅

And I am very hyped about the horror film "The Ritual", I can watch that in the middle of July, when the pre-ordered DVD has arrived. I don't care about the bad reviews of the film or the IMDB average rating of 4,5 of 10 stars. Because my impression is, after reading several reviews about some horror films, that a lot of horror film fans are particulary hard to please. At least I have watched several horror films now with a rather low rating and I still enjoyed them.

Exorcisummer continued

Filled an educational gap today and watched "The Exorcist" today for the first time - the original movie from 1973 and the mother of all exorcism films, so to speak.

I watched the extended director's cut. I like this film. Have to say, it's rather different from a lot of modern horror films, because the pacing and style of cinematography is slower. And kudos to Linda Blair, playing a possessed girl at the age of 14 must have been not easy. I talked to an acquaintance about the movie yesterday and he said, there were rumours going around that the young actress needed to get psychiatric help after filming this movie. However, Linda Blair said again and again in interviews, even after years when asked about this, that she had been fine at the time and that she didn't have problems with her mental health.

It's Exorcisummer!

Yeah, I know, that's a real bad portmanteau of "exorcism" and "summer", but I couldn't resist. 😅 Today, I watched "The Possession of Hannah Grace". Megan, a former cop, starts working the graveyard shift at a morgue. And I won't go into more details because of spoilers. I like this film. What I found even scarier than the exorcism and possession scenes in it where the every-day or rather every-night activities going on in the morgue. Because there are rare things I find scarier than being alone at night in a large building, where the lights are on a timer clock and go out all the time, unless there is movement ...

In July, when my pre-ordered DVD has arrived, I want to watch another exorcism-themed film: "The Ritual", with Al Pacino, Dan Stevens, Abigail Cowen and Ashley Greene. This is based on true events, so I do not except a very scary horror film here, but rather a historical drama.
