With the last of the boxes dropped off, Aubrey was left to start unpacking his office. This wasn't exactly where he saw himself being at this time in his life, but the universe had other plans.

The first thing he did was open the windows, hoping that and leaving his door open would air out the place a little more. The unpacking was going to take longer than usual, and even though he's been back in the states for about a year there was still a learning curve to his new life.

In the midst of getting things moved around Aubrey had set a box on the edge of his desk, not realizing just how close to the edge it was. As he passed the box, he knocked it with his elbow and the contents hit the floor. The sound of the impending mess, and Aubrey's frustrated sighed words echoed through the room and out into the hall.

"Oh uh, I didn't realize my face was expressing so much..."He responded and soon sighed softly. "It's just one of my llamas are sick at the moment and I don't know if it'll pull through." He explained. He knew that herds weren't exempt from sickness, which was why he had to isolate the poor thing.

The television demon looks up from the wine glass he's toying with, glancing around the gala. Velvette and Valentino were both busy working with talent, leaving him as the sole Vee lingering at the table. With a rotation of the wrist, the dark red liquid swirls around in a little whirlpool as he studies Aileen.

"...until someone more important comes along, no. Take a seat." He answers bluntly, lifting the glass of cabernet sauvignon. If she's able to get in to something this high scale, she's either important, clever, or lucky, any of which could be useful to him. Let's see if she impresses.

Kronk blinked and looked down at the cookie, then back at Aileen with a cheerful grin. “Whoa, thanks! I just had a spinach puffs, but there’s always room for shortbread.” He reached out and gently took the cookie from her hand, sniffing it with curiosity before taking a bite. “Mmm… buttery. You make these yourself?”

I don't need to be careful were the words which almost spilled from his mouth just to be a contrarian. He was glad he'd stopped himself just in time, for it would have been quite the lie and rather embarrassing were he to require assistance in the end. Not that he'd ask for it anyway. 'I am careful,' he said instead. Rynn clicked his fingers and scowled. It was a long way down, and the stairs were steep and narrow, almost more like a ladder carved into the concrete; in other words, not his forte. So old and decrepit was the structure, too, that it lacked even the most basic of aids, such as a handrail. All one had was the steps and the wall and a very, very far way to fall. A paranoid fear then invaded his mind: if I go first, what's to stop him from pushing me down? 'You should go first.'

A gloved hand met Wade's cheek, his body half turning with hunched shoulders, as if embarrassed. He waved Finlay away feebly with his free hand before, with enough sincerity to make your rage much, much worse, he said: "Aw shucks!"

As if the VERY CLEAR insult had missed and instead landed as a well meaning PRAISE.

He straightened to face Finlay entirely, his attention now well and truly earned. Despite the lack of physical ' comedy ' , the condescending appreciation of his voice remained.

"Thank you! That's so nice of you to notice, Nosferatu! BIG fan, by the way. That Spongebob cameo was somethin' else, huh? How'd you breathe underwater?"

Bill hovered up beside the other, grin tugging at his features with a simple kind of sadism.

Maybe there were reasons- after all, there was always something. Crime spree, fire in the neighborhood, potential accidents- but as far as she knew, none of that had transpired today.
