      for truly it was a surprise he did not expect, for how could       one ever truly expect to be taken from one plane to another       so convoluted. they’ve told him that the city was alive, that       its secrets were not so easily unraveled. time would, at this       moment, prove to be the only useful tool he has. he is still,       a moment of time passing before he speaks again.

there were better ways to go about this, Sheba knew. simpler, subtle, more expected ways. after all, time has continued on here since she left this city and it carried on as always as she returned. and to the surprise of some or expectations of few, she would seek Goetia out as a first order of business. last she remembered, he had been troubled by something. the cause remained unknown to her, and she never spoke of it, but her eyes could tell. however, when the Queen finally caught sight of him a few nights ago, something that could only be called a pleasant surprise had been seen as well. and with it, a plan formed.

really, he should have walked the other way. not that Sheba gave him much of a choice, what with the literal bounce in her step as she blocked his path. her expression seemed innocent enough. excitement during a festival as to be expected, but something twinkled in those eyes that hinted at a deeper meaning.

well, isn’t this a sight for sore eyes? even if there were plenty of people mingling about the huge tree, she could recognize that mess of ‘put together’ peach hair anywhere. arms crossed, seemingly sleeping against the base of the tree. to anyone else, they would continue on their way, leaving him be. but, well, Musashi wasn’t the type to see a familiar face and not make her presence known. it is with that always carefree attitude that she does just that, feet coming to a  halt before him.

         there was no other way to go. she’s never been the type to dwell on the sad or the past, nor did she hold any regrets about her actions leading up to that final decision. she would not be Musashi if she didn’t greet a friend with a smile, as if nothing ever happened.

  hands clasped tightly behind her back, a wide grin present, she leans to the side-- almost comically far -- to get a better look at an (obviously not) sleeping face. for a moment she stares before loudly clearing her throat. “ You know that’s not always going to work, right? I could tell you were faking from miles away.” okay, maybe not miles but he gets the point.

       it’s been peaceful. nice and quiet, not much happening since the diamond ice fiasco. and while there is nothing wrong with that -- for a time, it was something she much wanted -- it was starting to get.....well, boring. maybe it’s because she’s gotten far too used to being flung into some situation at every turn but the daily routine of waking up, going to work, coming home and spending her free time doing mundane things was starting to bug her. and so, she was going to take matters into her own hands and change that!

              but not without dragging some poor, unfortunate soul along with her. unwillingly, most likely. and she had the perfect candidate in mind.

 he’s reading when she finds this victim for her shenanigans. some book about mathematics, but that’s not the important part. the important part is that Ritsuka knows that he knows she is there and is choosing to ignore her. which was fine. why? well, she was not going to go anywhere and could stand there all day like one of those animatronics with the eyes that follow your every move. 

              and she will.
