I visited beaches to get a feel of the seas sounds, movement, rhythm, and also to get me in the frame of mind of Moby Dick, being at sea.

I looked for water in different places to observe its effect on the way things look. I liked the surface and how you can’t see whats inside, only the reflection of the place and surroundings.

I began thinking out of the box, trying to imagine the ship on the water, the textured, weathered wood of the ship, different materials, densities, colour. When I imagine a ship I instantly picture the connection between the boat and the water, and the ship being submerged, moving up and down to the waves.

A film I produced from shining bright light through my collected glass objects onto moving water. Sometimes I see it as being underwater, like Moby Dick, and seeing the surface high above you, seeing a world we know through the lens of a whale. Or it could be the other way, us looking down into the water, not clearly seeing what’s down there.
