4: What was the last book you added to your tbr?
Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall. I’ve been seeing it everywhere, and it’s exactly the kind of geopolitical/historical non-fiction book that I like reading!
(now that I think about it, it’s actually probably Brain Gender by Melissa Hines lol but I don’t think that counts because it’s for an essay).
10: Sci-Fi or fantasy? Why?
Ooooh tough one. When it comes to TV shows, sci-fi definitely, but books? I think fantasy, actually, I probably read more fantasy than sci-fi. Unless you count dystopia as sci-fi because I absolutely love dystopia. But fantasy’s amazing because of the worldbuilding and the suspension of disbelief - I love being able to connect to a character despite them living in a world that’s almost unrecognisable.
29: How do you sort your shelves? (i.e. by color, author, title etc.)
By genre - so like contemporary, children’s, crime, classics, historical fiction etc. I also have a separate shelf for non-fiction books and those are sorted by topic. Within the genres, I tend to sort by author for everything except classics and contemporary, which I sort by publisher - so I have all my Penguin Modern Classics together, all my Penguin English Library books together, all my Vintage Classics together etc. etc.
39: Name one of your favorite childhood books
SO MANY UGH. I think I’ll go for one that wasn’t a conventional one (so like, not Harry Potter) - I really liked the Doomspell trilogy by Cliff McNish! OH and the Jane Blonde spylet series by Jill Marshall - I was properly obsessed with these when I was about seven and came up with my own spy name and everything.
+ask me about books
Hiya! For the compliments: if you're interested in non-fiction, I just finished The Silk Roads. It's a bit of a tome but the writing style is surprisingly breezy and it's so interesting.
okay, I just looked this up on goodreads and it sounds so interesting???? I’m usually not one for non-fiction, but wow! may have to check this out! thank you!
