One of the stronger accents in the #Y2020K “Rust” collection is this hand polished blackened chain #recycledmetal #metal #metalforever @thexzouix that once toubled the dog we had many years ago. I completely restored it back into a perfect shape. I never understood why would anyone go ahead and chain a dog in a garden. I’d always unchain him. In this collection I am gazing into minds of people through their actions (only by observation) and rethinking my personal standpoint towards #cruelty and its forms. I have an utterly strange feeling this one can’t be described by words. You’ll have to experience it. It’s worth mentioning that metal is a very hard and rewarding material to #work with. And it will look amazing with the black silk, cotton, dusty gray chiffon, rust dyed natural cotton knit and of course black recycled leather which I consider to be even cruel than a chained dog. I mean, someone buys and throws away leather as if it was a stone or something. Would you really skin an animal just to have a miniskirt or a sexy pair of pants? I am salvaging this material because once it is bought and abandoned, it deserves another purpose by recycling when the material is in a perfect condition. On the occasion of Black History Month, we want to highlight the participation of a prominent Haitian historical figure who gave the black movement a big boost.

Toussaint L’Ouverture will always remain a symbolic figure who gave hope, a remarkable figure who wanted to fight for this liberation movement.

As a revolutionary leader, Toussaint has always shown his political and military prowess for black causes. This helped him transform the slave rebellion into a revolutionary movement that would mark the whole world.

As a reminder, Toussaint L’Ouverture, also known as François-Dominique Toussaint L’Ouverture, was born on May 20, 1743. He was a Haitian general and one of the most important leaders of the Haitian revolution.
