So as the loser I am I have already started preparing for next Christmas. I had cut my Christmas list down from approximately 20ish people to 8 not including C, we don’t give each other Christmas gifts; but we will start to do stockings with S. I started to cut out people after C and I got married and merged Christmas lists, there were just too many. I also brought my budget down as well to $50 max per person or couple depending on the gift, which sucks as it makes me feel super cheap. So this year for 2015 I am going to go for quality not quantity and hope to get people gifts they can experience or will actually use instead of cluttering up their houses and eventually getting thrown out. The people we cut out will continue to get Christmas Cards and a scratch and Win. Normally I make them cookies as well but this last year with S and going to Europe I didn’t have a lot of time so I flaked out, but next year I will get little miss to help me and we will do a whole bunch. So I started researching gift ideas and am slowly going to start buying people things throughout the year, including the stocking stuffers. For my mom who doesn’t shower but only bathes (which is really weird to me as baths are for relaxing and not washing) I am putting together a spa in a jar. Which includes deep conditioning hair mask, a face mask, bath salts, cleansing face wipes, shower gel, moisturizer, shampoo and a loofa; I also plan on buying her a magazine to enjoy reading while she has a relaxing spa bath. In total it will cost me only $20 to put together. Some other ideas I have are food gift baskets for my grandparents and my parents, I’ll buy non-perishable foods when they go on sale and stock up through the year and closer to the big day we will buy the perishable items. My Dad’s birthday is coming up in February and I was thinking about going in with my siblings to get him zip lining it would be about $10 per person. I am also putting away $20 per pay cheque to help with Christmas when it comes around.
