Some time ago I had an interesting conversation with my artistic soulmate and we came to the conclusion that branding your art with your very own name takes a good deal of courage - you inadvertently get rid of the hideout that is often granted by a pseudonym. In fact, with my previous albums, the EP 'mono3some' and then the two LP's '8’ [released by Polish Radio] and 'duality’ [released by Kayax] I did sign with my own name but I kept Grabek at a distance from my personal self. With the release of my third album it's time for me to start talking about Grabek in the first person. 'Day One' is an album with the most personal music I've ever created; it's a practically wordless story about a birth specifically defined in space and time; it's a story about a new, painful, beautiful, sometimes trivial and sometimes chaotic beginning. Do I want to let go of my musical past with this album? Hard to say. I don't think I have a straightforward answer.
