With the tiny puppy now sleeping peacefully in her lap, Kiara’s finger flew up to her lips - hushing Orlando before he could do the unthinkable, and reawaken the fluffy bundle. 

“I just got her to sleep. I’m too scared to move,” she whispered, with faint amusement. “If this is what parenting is like...I’m definitely not ready for it.” It was no wonder that she treated so many parents for stress related diseases, or insomnia!  A puppy was hard enough.

“It’s 2am. Where have you been? I was too worried to sleep, and I have a shift in two hours,” she didn’t know whether she was more worried or angry. Was he hurt? Or had he been with another woman?
