bookshop AU + fake dating for the mashup thing!
dianetti bookshop + fake dating AU:
- Gina has a job at the local bookshop
- Rosa likes to go to the bookshop because there’s a cafe that has her favorite herbal tea and it’s nice and quiet. She can read her mystery novels in peace and also work on cases without precinct noise
- Gina notices Rosa immediately the first time Rosa comes in, but doesn’t say anything.
- When Rosa visits for the fifth time, Gina’s already bought Rosa’s herbal tea and is ready with it
- Rosa offers to pay Gina back but Gina refuses to accept any money. When Rosa asks if there’s any way she can pay Gina back, Gina just shrugs and returns to work (but she still keeps an eye on Rosa because she’s hella attracted to Rosa!!)
- They become friends when Gina regularly comes over to ask Rosa about her life. Rosa doesn’t share much, but she loves listening to Gina talk about everything and nothing at all.
- Gina knows exactly which mystery novels Rosa likes and brings her the newest ones, along with 20% off discount coupons.
- Rosa starts coming in even more often because she kinda just really likes Gina’s company! Also, how else is she gonna hear the local gossip?
- One day, Gina doesn’t come in. Another employee informs Rosa that she has a family thing. The employee proceeds to sit down, say that he noticed that Rosa and Gina are friends, and asks for relationship advice because he’s apparently madly in love with Gina.
- Rosa doesn’t appreciate this (she’s jealous!!)
- Two days later, Rosa comes back to the bookstore and Gina’s there. Using her superior detective skills, Rosa deducts that Gina’s been avoiding the employee that’s in love with her.
- Rosa overhears said employee trying to ask Gina out on a date.
- To which Gina replies, “I have a girlfriend.” This confuses Rosa, because Gina’s never brought up a girlfriend.
- Before she knows it, Gina’s in front of her. Gina grabs her hand and gives her a quick kiss on the lips before hissing, “Remember when I bought you that tea and you asked if there was any way for you to pay me back? Yeah, well, I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend.”
- Rosa agrees to this and they set a few ground rules, the main one just being that Rosa and Gina are girlfriends when present at the bookshop.
- Rosa starts coming to the bookshop way more often because she really enjoys being Gina’s fake girlfriend.
- They fall in love and the rest is history
