In this edition of Ktown Hidden Gems, I talk about my experience at Holy Roly Ice Cream. One of my friends, her husband, and I like to get dessert and explore Ktown; we’ve explored a few new dessert places, and so far they’ve all been great! The first place we went to was Holy Roly Ice Cream. I found Holy Roly Ice Cream on Instagram, and I knew that I had to try it. We went later on a Friday night, and the place was absolutely packed. Despite this, we didn’t have to wait too long to place our order, which is always good when a place is busy. I ordered the Earl Grey and my friend and her husband split the French Toast.

While we were waiting for our food, we got a table that allowed us to watch them make the ice cream rolls. I found it to be a really interesting process, and it was fun to watch them make our food. The Early grey has whipped cream, a pocky stick, a roasted marshmallow, teddy graham crackers, almonds, and drizzled honey. The French Toast has whipped cream, a pocky stick, a roasted marshmallow, teddy graham crackers, and drizzled maple syrup. I loved the Earl Grey because it was the right blend of flavors, and it wasn’t too sweet. I’m really not a huge fan of super sweet things or dessert, so it was perfect for me. I also liked how it wasn’t a ton of ice cream- since it was rolled less fit into the cup vs. a few scoops of ice cream in a cup.
I also really liked the décor of the place, it is simple but decorated subtly so you notice it. I really liked the cooper tables, but I do think that they need more seating for bigger groups- most tables only fit two people. Overall, it was a great experience, and I definitely recommend it and I want to go back soon!
