The Portage glacier spans several miles behind what is shown here and is about 10 stories high! It was magnificent getting so close to this and being able to see the details of this massive piece of ice. . While I only went on the hour-long cruise, if you have more time they also have a full day-long adventure where you cruise through more of the area exploring the beautiful landscapes just south of Anchorage. . See the clouds?
