Written near the painting: Karen Lerner (née Gundersen) was an actress, television journalist and producer, as well as the subject of several silkscreened portraits by Andy Warhol. At the time of this image, she was also married to the famed librettist Alan Jay Lerner, creator of celebrated musicals such as "My Fair Lady" (1956) and "Gigi" (1958).
