     he approaches him from behind, brows furrowing at the odd choice of clothing - he has absolutely no memory of deku owning a simple black shirt and yet here he is wearing one. unless - “ Wait, what the fuck? “ his voice is oddly soft from pure confusion as he finally turns the corner and sees his shirt. on deku. deku. wearing his shirt. that’s… NEW. “ is that -  are you wearing my shirt? “

   Everyone doubted him. They’d told him he was foolish for wanting to recruit a hero student and that their efforts would be in vein. Even as Tomura pointed them to the video of Bakugou’s performence during the Sport Festval’s award ceremony, his new ‘comrades’ tried to persuade him every step of the way. But now? Now, they’d have to eat their words and recognize Tomura as the leader he is. 

   “Welcome to the team, Bakugou,” Tomura grins.

     a heavy sigh leaves kiri as he allows thoughts to cloud his head for just a moment too long, feeling them pull down his usual cheery sense. mind continues to travel back to the raid on the yakuza base and how almost all of them had gotten out alive. almost. he continues to play various scenarios in his head to think of some way that maybe he could’ve been there to help sir nighteye, but even in his scenarios he comes up short. thoughts are broken as he hears the front entrance of the door open and kiri is quick to replace the somber expression with one a little more joyful.   “ midoriya! what’s goin’ on, man? ”

Denki generally regarded homework as a problem for ‘future him’, but eventually that no longer worked. Such as now, the night before math homework was due. He had tried, or at least he’d looked at the paper for 10 whole minutes, but he just couldn’t figure it out. So now he was knocking on Bakugo’s door, easily the best student in their group. If he was busy, Denki supposed he could ask Sero or Jirou. 

“Dude, have you finished the math homework?? I need help.” He called through the door, voice taking on a whining quality. He was now wishing he’d done it last night instead of playing video games. “I’ll charge your stuff for a week!”

It was only 5 AM, but that was when Emma got up to do her morning workout. The sun had barely risen, and all of the other students were asleep and would stay that way for a few hours, considering it was their day off. But not Emma, she considered this ample time to be her ‘idol training’ time. She started with stretches in her room, followed by a quick breakfast in the dorm’s kitchen. Then she would grab her phone, plug her headphones in, and run for an hour.

It was now 5:30, and she was making excellent time. As she was running, she was singing one of her songs under her breath, this time being one of her newer songs that hadn’t been released yet. She had the background music downloaded, so all she had to do was provide the lyrics.

At 6, she was on her way back to the U.A. dorms when something caught her eye. It was another student, training out in the courtyard. He was muscular, and had a plume of ash blonde hair on his head. Ah, that was Bakugou Katsuki, the infamous first-year student with an explosive temper and Quirk. 

She sort of envied him, despite being the older one. He had an amazing Quirk, and he was in the Hero Course, something Emma desperately wished to be in. At this point in her high school career, she wouldn’t be able to switch to the course, but did she wish that she could be a hero like the others.

She slowed her run to a jog, then eventually a walk, as she was passing him by. She gave him a casual smile, “Good morning.” She greeted, pulling her headphones from her ears. “I didn’t think anyone else was up as early as I was.”

           One would think that he would be used to arranged training by the UA teachers for the younger Hero classes— but that never meant that he had to be EXCITED for them like most of his classmates ( and those in 3-A ) were. What made it WORSE was who he had apparently been assigned to, with the thought that his quirk could offer a unique situation to help the growth of an ANNOYINGLY loud quirk. They were given the option for solo training, or one observed by a class— as long as a teacher was present and a training room preferably requested.

            Bakugo Katsuki. Just thinking of the name brought a frown to tug at his lips, hands shoved into pants pockets of casual attire as he made his way to the training grounds. He didn’t need his costume for this— not that he even had much of one to begin with. FLASHY wasn’t his style, so one could imagine his annoyance at having been paired to the, arguably, flashiest first year in 1-A. He would have an advantage of knowing the brat’s quirk already...was this even really fair?

             Curt nod is given to Aizawa as he enters the building, a very brief notification that the first year was already out of the field warming up. Tanned hands are still in cloth confines as he leisurely strolls out into the vast room, ignoring the obnoxious complaining coming from the hotheaded opponent until form finally stills. Neck swivels to one side with a loud pop before he repeats the action with the other side.

            “ Do I have to put you to sleep before you shut that mouth of yours? I’m wasting my free time on this, so at least show some gratitude you brat. ”
