Blue Bonnet + Celestial for Funguary!

Went a little abstract w/ the celestial aspect but I'm ridiculously happy w/ the resulting piece, I really like the way that the wood grain on the skeleton and the dirt it's surrounded by turned out 💙🐇🍄

Update - dead male opossum: the heat has brought bugs, finally. The skin of the tail has started to strip away. Still a lot of flesh along the backbone and on the skull.

Update - dead male opossum: the heat and sun of the last two days has made more of the pelvis visible and the skin of the tail is almost completely gone. I’m considering taking some individual bones and not waiting to take the whole thing.

Update - dead male opossum: more rain means more removal of fur. Still so e flesh on the skull, spine, and top of the ribcage.

Update - dead male opossum: The rain has done a great job removing most of the fur. There is no longer any smell of death.

Update on dead male opossum: organs have liquified, spilled over, and either evaporated or dried into the ground. Beautiful.
