I remember when they did our HPV injections in high school loads of girls tried to refuse it and surprise surprise like half of them are now antivaxxers on Facebook still whining on and on like "omg I CAN'T I'm afraid of needles" that's great Jordyn, I'm afraid of dying of a preventable disease because you were too much of a little bitch to contribute to herd immunity.

These same girls who were "afraid of needles", by the way, would skip the morning and waltz in for their last period English Lit quiz with brand new cartilage piercings in both ears. You know, the kind that can't be done with a piercing gun.

I, too, am afraid of needles (I have anxiety, don’t know if it’s related or I just don’t like needles) but I get shots when I have to (or should) get them because I, too, am afraid of dying (in general, but of preventable diseases as well, I guess, and it’s stupid, like, you die and it’s not like, “oh what could’ve been done?”, like, you could’ve gotten vaccinated against the thing that killed you is what could’ve been done).

I get the point that they weren’t *really* afraid of needles, they were anti-vaxxers. I am *actually* afraid of needles (or at least I’m, like, afraid it’s gonna hurt and I just don’t like them, I’m squeamish). And am not anti-vax.

Here’s an earlier reblog about how my school offered comfort options for people who were legitimately afraid of needles (and when I say legitimate I don’t mean they were asking for proof; they were just going “do you think it would be less stressful with [insert comfort option]?”) and I think you got my point here, but I do really want to make it clear that I am NOT ON ANY LEVEL mocking trypanophobia, and when I say “too much of a little bitch” I do really mean “too full of their own perceived self-importance”. At least three of them are now advertising alternative medicine on Facebook.
