A digital graffiti wall has been set in Winter Olympics Village in 2010, by Tangible Interaction. The digital graffiti wall combines interactive technique and street art, and also makes them a creative connection with media art. Also, large screen with interactions has been showed in such events, it can be identified as a new understanding of media art.
Street graffiti art can be seen everywhere around the world, the works are talented, creative and riveting. However, these pieces of works can only be once or permanent existence on the wall. Covering or replacing will be the final ending of them. But having a "reusable wall" will be a possibility to save graffiti art works.
One of the most significant features in this interaction technology is that people have a free control with a specific camera called “Firefly MV camera” to instead having a real touch with the screen. The camera has the strobe and trigger functions. It can capture the track the people’s action and transfer to the wall. That means people can easily and casually scribble on this wall. Also, the work can be printed as a master piece or emailled to friend/ posted on social network. With these functions, people can create new conversations within their own group of friends.
To sum up, the digital graffiti wall is a live combination of street art and interaction technology. In the meantime, it engages participants in play their creativity, and attracts potentials users to join in.
