Just in case you want to ignore the spoiler warning I will say it's not really that major but if you want to go in uninformed heed the warning.
Also I'll be talking about an ep from the og 90s show so if you haven't seen that then uh....spoilers for that too I guess.
Ok. So you decided to join my conversation. Sorry to tell you it's not something most people are going to give a damn about but I want to talk about a character we saw in these episodes. A character we've met before, in the future/present day-- The External.
Yeah, remember her? No? Am I the only one who loves her only appearence in the og 90s show? Probably not but it's my favorite epsiode because it's all about Remy's past....sort of.
So if you don't remember The External was the one who pitted the Assassins and the Thieves against each other. In present day, that is the past in the og show, she requested a tithe from both guilds. The day was approaching and the Assassins kidnapped Bobby (Henry), Remy's brother and swapped the tithe for a fake when they traded Bobby's freedom for Remy's.
The X-Men show up to help Remy blah blah blah fighting. The External shows up to accept the tithe and almost punishes the Thieves for their fraud until Jean forces her to see the truth at which point she accepts the Thieves's tithe and gives them a choice- Bobby tries to have all the Assassins killed but Remy asks only that Belladonna (oh yeah she's in charge of the Assassins and was trying to toute Remy as her husband because they were supposed to be wed but Remy left I guess that part is unclear why. Just this version they never married) lose her powers but not her life.
SO Why give a rundown of that episode? Because Rama-tut/Kang directly refered to her as External. She is told her part will soon begin. Is it a coincidence that this woman so closely tied to Remy's past was introduced now? I have a feeling she's important.
OH and the og ep (Exteternally Yours) ends with Remy telling Belladonna "I not Thief or Assassin. I am an X-man and I ain't never comin back." I feel like that is important too. He's an X-Man and that's something he'll need to remember.
