im actually so living for the current cody heel turn in the context of his evil past in japan/the indies because it's like. we're getting the return of cody being evil and obsessive but it's so different than it was with kenny and ibushi because with them cody at least had a modicum of control. he was doing more of a "how to make friends and influence people" master manipulator thing (or trying to at least) and obviously he was unhinged about it ("kenny doesn't love you like i love you" etc) but it was on his terms, for the most part. but now it's like, drew's brought out this unhinged obsession, but it's no logner under cody's control. he's completely at the mercy of his own emotions and rage and it's drew who's pulling the strings, more or less. drew's able to get cody to attack him and break rules and lose his babyface composure and yeah, drew might get suspended or cody might beat him in a match, but at the end of the day, cody is slowly losing his golden boy status to his own impulses and it's all because of drew.
