✦ Has your own interpretation changed from when you first began playing the character?

 Truly it has, when I first started I have little to no information on Cohen til I decided to read the novel he was present in. Despite some deeming it not canon, same for BaS, I used every little piece to build him, things the creator lacked. Expanded on those who inspired his character to further his history. To find his voice and my dialogue. I learned who he was as time went by. That he was not always mad and ‘evil’- even at times he could speak normally and not always in poetic terms and certainly was proper. At first I nearly gave up due to worry and not being able to pursue his character. I recall being so excited reading the novel and legit- in tears that I could feel peace writing him.

 I guess within the year I started....I turned him into something almost real and vivid. With a backstory, a history, a family.  I am proud of that. I’ve come to be content with my interpretation.

His smile delights her, encourages her, further shining with joyfulness at the moment of something resembling days before the city was overtaken by a choking tension that made even leaving the house feel like a great chore. At once tangible fear now dashed out by the twinkling glow of an honest-to-god party, if only for the time being. She wants to throw her arms out to the crowd all washed in neon and gold and toss herself into its frantic bliss, be carried away in a lull of hot swing music pouring from speakers and rocked by the sway of the dancing sea. It could bring tears to her eyes, as if moved by a heart-breaking beauty. 

But she doesn’t cry, instead grins like the happy-go-lucky creature plastered all over the city in her promotional posters, grabs his hand and practically begs, “ Oh, let’s dance, Mr. Fitzpatrick! ” She doesn’t really wait for his answer, doesn’t expect to be turned down as how many men in Rapture would turn down a dance with ‘Andrew Ryan’s Favorite Girl’? (The thought pains her; she buries it under a dazzling expression desperate to enjoy herself.)

“Kyle? What’re you doing at the-” He forgot what he was going to say for a moment, his brain clouded by liquor: to remedy the problem, he grabbed a glass from a passing waiter, draining it dry. There. That should solve his problem. “Ah. Right. What are you doing at this party? Thought you were busy or something.” He grabbed a nearby table to steady his posture: couldn’t go disappointing their mutual boss by falling into the punch bowl, could he?

♦: What can ‘kill’ your muse/your inspiration? 

Assholes, mostly. I know everyone has those days where they scroll their dash and just think ‘ugh’ after seeing something (or someone). When I have those days,  I don’t even bother trying to write. Also, real life stress is major muse killer. I’m sure that’s a universal thing.

☻: Which genres do you find the easiest to play? (angst, fluff, smut, etc.) 

That depends entirely on the muse. As far as Hector goes, smut is pretty easy to do. He’s my most sexual character by far, so flirting, foreplay, and kink comes naturally in most of his interactions, regardless of partner. He’s also got a lot of personal issues that enable some intense angst, but it’s a little bit harder to find that delicate balance between being heart-wrenching and straight up cliche.

☼: Which tropes do you find overused/boring?

–{ hmmm I’m not really sure. I don’t know if it necessarily     counts as a trope, but one of my biggest pet peeves is    when people say they have an idea for a thread and    then the starter they write me is their character marching    into Ryan’s office and going “What did you want?”     other than that uhh.. I guess I’m not crazy about obvious    mary sues or self inserts, but good writing can make up    for that I mean idk I’m pretty loosy goosy

headcanon + sleep ( or is it the other way around? w/e)

Regardless of the universe, Adult Patrick is notorious for working until he’s asleep on the job. If you don’t either have a set time for him to clock out, or send him home when he starts to look tired he will literally work until he passes out.

As Patlas this means many nights men have found him at his desk, plans and blueprints and notes strewn over the desk, with a pen in his lax hand, and his head atop all of it, ink smudged across his cheek where it hadn’t even dried before he passed out.

As a maintenance man they were smart enough to send his ass home because once he started nodding off while welding a wire and the person next to him noped out and called the manager.

At Finkton it’s really easy. Because him and every other man there works the same schedule. Pretty much to death. But the vox have found him passed out before in among whatever thing he’d stolen for them, having fallen asleep while he waited for the meet up.

And when he’s woken up on such occasions, he’ll usually begin with, “Huh? Wha’? I’m in th’ middle’a somethin’ can’t ya see I’m busy?”

Don’t kill the messenger, wasn’t that what they always said? As if this little brat wasn’t to blame for his master’s words, that he couldn’t be faulted for passing on the artist’s notes? Whether he agreed with the words, hell, whether the boy had even seen them didn’t change the fact that he had come here of his own volition. If he was forced, it was because he let himself be. Cohen-- Ryan was furious. He ran a hand through his hair as he read the message, and a second. To be undermined by this man-- it was the deepest betrayal yet. How dare they turn on him like this, after all he had given these people? Cohen was just.. the last nail in the coffin. 

He smiled then, a wide false smile, taking the young man’s hand to shake it. His grip was white knuckled with rage, but the smile stuck firmly in place as he crushed the boy’s hand in his fist. He thought he could speak to Andrew Ryan like that? He may have said it, he was so upset from the list of demands that he could barely see through the red haze. He felt a knuckle pop in the boy’s finger and had an awful idea. It took almost nothing to fling the boy to the ground, to hold him there with a shiny leather shoe across the fingers of his left hand. He could have beaten him, he thought. Could have kicked him and broken him and thrown him away. No one would notice one more body. He leaned his weight on Kyle’s fingers a bit, waiting to hear the pianist’s whimper. It came, and many more, the pleas all that much more delicious to ignore. He should fight for himself, not beg, Ryan thought with distaste, as he let his weight fall on the small joints of the kid’s knuckles. It was a quiet sound, a dull crushing noise, as he ground the bones beneath his heel. Much quieter than the screaming that followed, as the nerves and sinews of the hand were mashed into the splintering of bone and the small puddle of blood. He would have to have the carpets replaced, he thought idly, wiping the bottom of his shoe next to the mess.Don’t kill the messenger. Well. And why not?“If you come back here,” he warned, turning away to light a cigarette and disappearing into the darkness of his home. “I’ll do the other one.”

The trick is who’s definition of guilty? Dan would say his guiltiest desire is to have children, and a family. It’s a thing he honestly thinks he’s not capable nor deserving of.

I would say his guiltiest desire involves two other people, an unconventional space, mild amounts of blood-play and mild to generous amounts of gun-play. If I’m using such terms correctly.
