it's interesting to me that while ultimately nazuna is the disobedient doll that betrays shu and mika the obedient one that stays with him, it's somehow mika who was always a bit more open to refute him.

nazuna for the entirety of his relationship with shu in exvalk had a mindset that can be best described with a sentence "what the hell, sure". ever since their first meeting when shu jumped out of the window, nazuna saw him as a weird, a bit scary individual, but in the end agreed to join his unit despite this impression. this pattern is also seen later in dragon fruit, when he thinks shu is embarassing, going as far as hitting him for such behaviour, but in the end playing along by literally feeding him.

meanwhile mika who overall doesn't see shu in a negative light like nazuna was always capable of, already opposed him as early as in marionette. he was infuriated that shu helped out with his gift for nazuna, showing it loud and clear. mika's small moments of exasperation with shu are a reocurring thing (his frustration in cheval live, the way he looks in shu's victoria card).

it's a fun contrast between their thoughts about shu and how they acted towards him. these contradictions are also showcased in exvalk's fall and shu's breakdown. yes, nazuna disobeys him, but he ultimately agrees with shu, when shu loses hope for valkyrie nazuna does too. yes, mika obeys him, but he ultimately disagrees with shu, when shu loses hope for valkyrie mika doesn't in the slightest.
