Amniotic Band Syndrome – Right Eye Ectropion Correction Amniotic band syndrome is a rare condition where bands of the amniotic sac separate and entangle parts of the fetus. The presentation varies according to the location and tightness with which the bands wrap on the fetus. This little boy with amniotic band syndrome underwent ectropion correction of the right eye. Ectropion is the condition where the eyelid is turned outwards. A postauricular skin graft was harvested to correct his ectropion. He also underwent superior repositioning of his right lateral canthal ligament.
