OUT OF THE BLUE
In the evening hours the sea retreats about a kilometer to the back and leaves a magical landscape of green and blue. This lovely brasilian lady seems to be coming out from some world underneath.

SMOKY RIDERS
I had seen the smoke coming out from the back for a while, creating a beautiful light situation but just the smoke seemed empty. So I waited and waited until these two local boys showed up riding towards the beach for some action. I love the drawings they made on the back of the body board.
LITTLE GILI CAPTAINS It's a late afternoon on Gili air island. These three little captains are having a great time trying out their improvised styropor boat. What a great way to recycle and have some fun with what would usually be thrown away.
WIDE OPEN SECRET
Lost in Lombok. Somewhere down some little roads after some tiny villages I arrived at the ocean again and saw this. I couldn't really believe my eyes, it felt like a photoshopped landscape. No cars. No tourists. We headed down to that beach in which kilometer long waves were rolling into the crystal clear water and arriving at the white sand beach. For kilometers not a single soul, just a local fishermans family. Yes, these places still exist. For how long I am unsure in this case. That's why its gonna stay a secret as where exactly this is.
BUFFALO EXPRESS LANE
This newly build road seems out of place almost. Almost no cars. Very basic housings. But the road is newly build by the local government to attract investors. So far it's mostly used by guys like this that are getting their buffalos from A to B.
FIRE IN THE HOLE
The sunsets on my recent trip to the Gili islands in Lombok were something else. Watching the silhouettes of the fishing boats being put on fire by the sky behind seemed surreal. And nope, there is no filter on top of this photo and saturation is not increased. Just nature doing her magic.
INTO THE BLUE
Moments before a very heavy rainstorm hits the coastline this guy runs into the ocean to get wet before the sky does it. Blue. Open wide blue magic. Strong winds and wet wet raindrops claiming their territory in the back already.
