Kiddads Week 2025, and today is a free day so I decided to do a story about a kid who’s sort of a son, sort of a dad. He has the the eye of the tiger and the limbs of a tiger’s meal; Paeden Bennetts.

Set during season 1 when Paeden is actually with Walter and has not stowed away in the Odyssey or is with the Dads but they have forgotten about him.

Back to work after the Christmas break, and this is the first thing that caught our eye today!

These big golden tiger eyes were peeking out from a box of fans!

This is an umpires fan from Japan, during the Edo period (1603-1867) it is made from wood, coated in lacquer and painted in brown, red and gold.

It was used during sumo wrestling matches to declare the winner. There is a dragon on the reverse, but he is no longer clearly visible due to wear.

Fans similar to this, but made from metal were used in earlier eras. These were called Gumbai fans and were used for signalling troops during battle.

This is a Conway Stewart Number 27 lever fill fountain pen in green herringbone celluloid c. 1952-1955. It’s about 5 inches long and has a black domed cap top jewel and gold filled trim. The washer type clip has the Conway Stewart logo stamped at the top face and a diamond shaped tip. The lever tab is stamped with the Conway Stewart logo inside a diamond. The barrel is stamped The Conway Stewart and MADE IN ENGLAND is stamped near the end. The model number is absent on this example. The 14 karat gold nib is stamped Conway over Stewart over 14CT GOLD over 5.
