Clearly i do /not/ have a favourite *･゜ﾟ(^O^)↝
I was going to put leona for favourite design, too. But i think they could have made him better...wait no. He /is/ my favourite design. But like i couldn't choose betwren idia or ortho so
In RSA my actual favourite would be whoever is cinderella, prince charming or Tiana's equivalent.

I've seen someone talk about how Leona is the way he is because he's lonely
But i really want to talk about how i think he's actually depressed. (No i am not diagnosing him with anything, i am only talking about his behaviour representing that)
And i think Ruggie can see that. Ruggie's been with him for a while, after all. That's why he's not leaving him alone or behind. If you really think abotu it, Ruggie has no need to continue pursuing, nagging and helping Leona. He's not even Vice Housewarden. He can just ditch leona and do as he pleases, especially after Book 2 events. But he doesn't.
The way Leona behaves: inability (shown as disregard) to take care of himself, his responsibilities, the people around him, his surroundings, his health, his friends, his hobbies and interests
His overall irritability, disinterest, passiveness, empty in feeling
His preference to be alone. Self isolate. To run away from things(sleep away)
His tendency to give up easily, to not really try, to not "commit" or put in too much effort, to not involve himself with people (the burnout symptoms, and i have a lot to say on this)
Actually, he's quite similar to Malleus. "People don't or won't like me = i should stay away."
Malleus is not unaware per se, but he can't approach.
Leona thinks he can't approach, that no one likes him, that no one could like him, so he sleeps his days away, far from anyone else.
Leona we could say, is in a state of dissociation. Whether this is derealisation or depresonalization, is hard to classify, but added with the amount of sleep he "gets", his overall sense of time, repsonsibilty, location and memory will be skewed.
in one of his card's lines (school uniform, home transition 3), he says "If you're free, you should take a nap, that'll kill as much time as you want." We can see how he knows this sleep isn't good especially taking out of responsibilities, so he recommends it to Yuu "when you're free". But with him, it's hard to brak that habit, the escape.
He doesn't want to be this way, but he is. Or he has been for so long...there really isnt anything else.
The one thing he does do is eat but even then he's not overly focussed or too caring of it. He's hungry he eats. He isnt likely to wake up from his nap or forego his nap to eat.
The one thing he currently cares about that keeps him going is spelldrive. A lot of his card voicelines talk about it. He eats meat to play his best game ( Culinary crucible card, Tap home 1), he "puts work in so he isn't rusty for spelldrive (PE uniform, groovification)
In his halloween party card, Jade noticed how he was standing off alone "while everyone else was happily dancing away".
Anyway, jade came to ask why floyd was upset over him or something....
Leona ignored him because he was so focussed on spelldrive.
In his Dorm Uniform card, he says "Ramshackle...is empty, abandoned...perfect spot for a snooze."
He looks for places to sleep where a) he bothers no one, b) where no one can find him. (Same reason why Malleus likes Ramshackle, I reckon)
I have a lot more to say about this because i jave a lot of feelings about this. Leona is my favourite character so obviously i focus on every minor detail because he's such an interesting, relatable (for me) character.
He is a burnt out gifted student who feels he has no worth besides his position and his intelligence by the way.
I'll rant more later after reading more of the novel ...and vignettes and cards and episodes and manga...anyway!
i'm a /strong/ and /full/ believer that your favourite character/person represents you.
and mine are leona from twst and mammon from om(when I did play) so take that as you will.
gojo and toji from jjk, mikey from tkr (tokyo revengers), bruce wayne and jason todd (red hood), jungkook and yoongi (bts), zayn malik (the singer lol), DPR IAN (ooo things got dark), dara sidhar and xelef/xelera from " A Tale of Crowns" etc. etc.

oh and i would add tokyo debunker here but I am not far enough for that and don't understand characters well enough yet
monte (mountain in spanish, since he is a mountain lion)
1st year at NRC, 17 yrs old, 7'2" (220 cm)
he/they, ace-spectrum, asd, touch averse
he is based off a Canadian mountain lion
his hair is thicker and longer since he lives in colder temperatures, they have natural reddish spots in the hair
weighs 80 kg (176 lbs), average for colder temperature cougars, tail is 2'4" (72 cm) long
he is most likely scarabia or ignihyde, not really into the "pack" behaviour of other beastmen.
he has excellent vision, but uses reading glasses to be safe,
he is very athletic naturally and loves gymnastics and track. he doesn't join clubs because they get uncomfortable in large groups for long periods of time
also enjoys mountain climbing and climbing in general. goes on long walks and hikes, runs into jade sometimes (he's a bit iffy at first, but gets along well enough with him)
does not eat vegetables, meat lover through and through, tolerates mushrooms (because of jade)
often wears headphones due to his sensitive hearing, has sensory issues, and prefers lighter materials like rayon and linen, loves oversized sweaters but can bear the cold, again, doesn't like people in his personal space for too long (except grim).
cannot be in close proximity to leona for too long (territorial), extremely uncomfortable due to feeling predatory instincts when he sees jack or ruggie (any canine beastmen)
went to the botanical garden to nap (loves trees), and avoids it because leona already claimed it first sigh
loves and coddles grim, who they see as his cub, but occasionally sends grim away due to predatory instincts..
