PRETTY LITTLE LIARS - SEASON 4 EPISODE 16 - EPISODE REVIEW
OK, the first thing I have to ask about this episode. Is that plate throwing thing a real thing? Because that is genius, I got to find me one of those things.
Onto the actual episode. Interesting that Shana knew Allison. Although betting the reason she didn't want Shana to come in with Emily is so Shana wouldn't see she played the same mind games with Emily she clearly played to gain Shana's loyalty.
You see the look on Allison's face when the elevator door closed? Didn't look like someone distraught or scared at that moment. She may not be in on A's game (the scene at the end with the locker would imply that) but she definitely is still fucking with the liars. What reason on earth would she have not to trust Aria, Spencer and Hannah... none. (well maybe Aria considering the Ezra thing I guess) Hard to believe Emily can't see that but the poor girl clearly isn't over her. Which is a shame because she could do so much better than that sociopath.
Spencer didn't have a good day either. Poor girl has her best friend and her boyfriend go off on her. Although I can't believe a hasting would not lock their breifcase, so he deserved to let Spencer find it. Doesn't he know his daughter well enough to know there was no way she would let that one go?
And onto Aria... you just want to shake her. The scene with Jake trying to warn her about Ezra was well done. I kept saying "Listen to him Aria. Just listen to him." I will give her credit for following up what he said, expected her to shut him down.
And when she confronted Ezra about it. You could see her not buying it, his story didn't add up and you could see she was slowly realizing that. But eventually she just believed what she wanted to. This so won't end well for her.
I knew an A trick was coming for Jake. No way Ezra was going to let that one slide. But Ezra is clearly getting sloppy. Jake may not know enough to quite put it together (I know Aria told him a lot, but guessing the original A wasn't among it) but the guy he ratted out to his girlfriend would have to be high on the suspect list for him. It's not like he is going to dismiss it as an accident. And if he tells Aria she might have an even harder time not noticing it happened while Ezra was out.
All in all a good episode. I love that Ezra was A, saved that whole Aria/Ezra story line for me. But I wasn't sure how us knowing who A was and not the Liars was going to work out. But so far it has made for some good television.
