LOCATION: mattie’s apartment 

mattie had her apartment to herself for a change, her brother was away for the weekend on a work trip. she loved having the place to herself, that meant she could do whatever she wanted, so she’d invited ezra round for a sleepover, they’d not had one in forever. mattie didn’t care that the two were now adults, it was still a fun thing to do together.

the pair had taken over the front room, pulling out the sofa bed to make a massive bed to relax on with pillows and blankets. they were sat sharing some snacks and having a good time, when mattie realised, she’d never actually told ezra about what happened at her birthday party, “hey ez --- i’ve got something to tell you. promise you won’t get mad?”.

             there’s a wait for his order, one that feels brutal as more  and  more  people flood into the coffee shop,  taking up tables and standing way too close to him.  soggy is only able to alleviate the oncoming distress when he sees a  familiar blonde sitting at her own table, book in hand, alone.  while him and mattie often blur the line between just friends and   more than friends,    him  and ezra blur it between     friend of a friend     and   actual friends.  ezra is one of the many people soggy would have never had any contact with if it weren’t for his adolescent relationship with mattie, especially considering the two’s diffident traits.  introverted in their natural habitats.  perhaps that’s one of the reason he’s always felt an innate comfortability with her too, and as he approaches her with caution he realizes that things haven’t changed even now.      “  hey, ez,  do you mind if i just chill here while i wait  for my order ?   it would truly mean a  latte  to me if you say yes, i mean, i make killer coffee puns.    as you can see.  ”   / @ezrafms​
